So, what is Lasa?
Lasa is a Filipino word for taste or flavour.
But for us, Lasa is more than just a name.
It was born from our love for food and our belief in how powerful food can be. Food tells stories. It carries history, reflects culture, and has a beautiful way of taking us back to a place, a person, or a moment in time.
You might wonder what kind of food we serve at Lasa.
And sometimes, we get asked:
“Why is there Thai food in a Filipino restaurant?”
The simple answer is—we’re not a fusion restaurant.
We honour each dish for what it is and where it comes from.
Lasa is our way of exploring Southeast Asia through food—a region connected by geography, history, migration and shared influences, yet each country with its own identity, traditions and flavours.
The more we learn, the more we realise how deeply connected our food is to our neighbours.
And perhaps that is what Lasa really represents.
Filipinos celebrating the food of Southeast Asia, while honouring what makes each culture uniquely its own.
