It’s time for our regular filter and canopy clean, and once again Jason and Richard from Northern Filter Services have done a fantastic job.

For 22 years, we’ve enjoyed great service from Northern Filters — originally from Brett, and now continuing with the new owner, Jason. It’s wonderful to see that same commitment to great service continue.
Every time they leave, hubby’s kitchen is absolutely sparkling!

We’re proud to support local businesses that have supported us for so many years. Building these long-term local relationships is what makes our community so special.

Our weekly shop at Youngs Veggie Shed is always a pleasure. Fresh, locally grown vegetables, great service, and a friendly catch-up with Garry and Gabe🥰 What more could you ask for?
We love supporting local businesses, especially when we can source fresh Tasmanian produce for our customers. It’s a lovely reminder that local businesses supporting local businesses helps keep our community strong.

❤️ Homemade Pork Dim Sims❤️

Pulled a few all nighters, making our authentic Pork Dim Sims, selling a few hundred before we got a chance to count them.
We totalled just over 2,500 to bag and freeze🥰

Making in house dim sims from scratch, and only using local ingredients, is a big process:
1: We get the freshest Tassie Pork delivered from Scottsdale Pork.
2: Hubby goes out to Young’s Veggie Shed to pick their best farm fresh crisp cabbages.
3: Hubby then chops the cabbages up into small Pieces.
4: Hubby puts all the fresh pork meat and seasoning into his custom-built multipurpose mincer/mixer to mix.
5: Mince the content.
6: Incorporates flour, freshly chopped cabbages and freshly minced pork back into his mixer to knead everything together for that perfect texture.
7: Once the filling is just right, we hand-wrap each individual dim sim.
8: Finally, they are steamed until fully cooked.
9: once cooled, we count them into small bags and quick freeze them to maintain their freshness.
10: They are ready to be enjoyed, we serve them hot in serving of three; steamed $6, fried $7 or battered $8 per serve.

❤️ Homemade Vegetarian/Vegan Spring Rolls❤️

Making our irresistibly delicious crispy spring rolls!

Hubby starts by hand-picking the freshest local vegetables from Mr Youngs Vegetable Shed Launceston.
Next, he skillfully prepared the filling by chopping the vegetables, soaking and cutting the rice vermicelli to the perfect length.
Then he seasoned the fillings for that perfect flavour, finally my turn to carefully wrap them.
Hopefully 3 boxes will be enough to get through Father’s Day🥰

Our spring rolls are cooked in fresh vegetable oil to achieve that unbeatable crunch. These healthy, super yummy rolls are a guilt-free treat that will delight your taste buds!

A quiet little thank you to the very kind person who, while we were busy serving multiple customers with very large orders tonight, slipped a generous $50 into our kids’ tip jar.

You may not realise just how much a gesture like that means to a small family business and our team.
It was a wonderful encouragement for my little helpers, their faces were priceless🥰

❤️Roasted Char Shew Pork❤️

Hubby has just finished roasting his special traditional Cantonese-style Char Shew Pork using fresh local Pork Scotch from Scottsdale Pork.
The pork is marinated overnight in seasonings, sauces, brandy, herbs, spices, ginger, onion, and lots of spring onions.
He covers parts of the pork with foil to prevent burning during the first roast, then dips it into a honey, maltose, and ginger solution.
After that, he roasts it again without foil, then finish off with a honey glaze.
Finally, his Char Shew is ready to be sliced up and stir-fried with Chinese mushrooms and fresh local vegetables for only $22.00🤤

❤️Crispy Skin Roasted Ducks❤️

Hot fresh aromatic roasted ducks straight out of the oven.
Hubby has spent the past few days preparing these ducks to ensure they're perfect for his special duck oven.

Our authentic Cantonese-style roasted ducks are made using our traditional family recipe.
Hubby carefully cleans, skilfully pumps air, marinates the insides with sauces and seasonings, blanches, then applies a honey lemon glaze, and air-dries the ducks before roasting them to perfection.

These delicious ducks, made with love and dedication, are truly the tastiest in Launnie!

$30 serve of half Roasted Duck with Plum Sauce (breast and drumstick)
