Today is Dia de los Mu***os (Day of the Dead), so we're cracking open The Encyclopdeia of Mexican Food for some culinary appreciation. From salads, to soups, to rich desserts this book looks beyond the well known street food to take a more comprehensive look at this diverse region's recipes.
A Mexican l***r is the obvious but well deserved pairing here. Light and refreshing with a citrus tang it prepares the palate for the delight you'll no doubt be whipping up after reading this.

Beers'n'books.
This is the first in a new series from Reckless BX and BooksPlus Bathurst where we pair our local b**r with a good read from your favourite local independent book seller.
To start things we couldn't go past the original and well loved BX L***r. Its crisp, its clean, its an easy going b**r for a book about high octane exploits.
We couldn't think of a more fitting pairing for "the b**r of Bathurst" than the autobiography of the six time winner of the Bathurst 1000, Garth Tander. This recently release autobiography, cowritten with Aaron Noonan, details his journey from the suburbs of Perth to the top step of the podium at Mount Panorama.
A compelling read with a local edge that sits beautifully alongside BX L***r.

Its asparagus season and we're leaning in.
Bathurst produces fantastic asparagus in abundance, as a venue that values seasonality and local produce we are all about it. Over the next few weeks we'll be offering a variety of specials inspired by this versatile vegetable. Numbers will be limited so get in quick.
