The advent of long-distance ocean travel brought about an eclectic and beautiful mix of food, ingredients, textures and tastes to the people of the African East Coast. Over the years, travelers from all over the world have contributed to and indeed, been influenced by the bounty provided by this rich, diverse coastline - from Kenya to the magical spice islands of Zanzibar, all of the way down to our beautiful South African coast.
