Happy Heritage Day from Opposite the Arch & Family!

Today we celebrate what makes South Africa so wonderfully us — our different cultures, languages, traditions, food, stories and the people who bring them all together.

From The Barista, Major Fraser’s, Hello Gorgeous Gifts, Lola’s Dessert Bar, The Lab, Serenity Day Spa, Andrea Ginn Properties, Lieze Roper Dietitian and Glenstone Farmstall, we’re proud to be part of this little community in Makhanda.

Because community is built in the everyday things — a friendly hello, a familiar face, a table shared, a story told, a helping hand and that feeling of “we’ve got each other.”

Oh eh eh… the rugby didn’t quite go to plan.

So, as we recover from the trauma, we think you need a comfort burger. Because Mzansi may be hurting, but we’re still backing our Bokke.

Enter the Double Cheese Smash Burger — our longest-standing burger and a firm fan favourite. An oldie but a goodie, and for very good reason.

Two juicy, crispy-edged patties, double molten cheese, tangy pickles and a mountain of golden, salty fries.

Some things just get better with time. And some nights call for a little extra cheese, Mzansi. 🇿🇦

This isn’t fast food.

It’s flour, fire and a little bit of obsession.

Every pizza starts with stone-ground flour, is hand-rolled the old-school way, and baked in our wood-fired oven until the crust is just the right kind of crisp.

But Major Fraser’s has never really been just about the pizza.

It’s where first dates become anniversaries. Where birthdays are celebrated, promotions are toasted, hard weeks are left at the door, and long lunches somehow become sunset dinners.
