We get asked this a lot! Because we are tucked inside the beautiful Kirstenbosch Gardens, there is usually a gate fee - but there are plenty of ways to visit us for free:

✅ SA Seniors (60+): Enjoy FREE entry every Tuesday! Just bring your ID along.

✅ Annual Members: Frequent foodies can grab a SANBI Annual Membership for R800. It pays for itself in just a few visits and gives you unlimited access to the gardens all year.

✅ Under 6s: The little ones always get in for free!

Whether it's a milestone birthday, a book club morning, or a corporate lunch, you can choose from our specialised menus:

🍰 High Tea Buffet: Freshly baked scones with clotted cream, handmade mini-tartlets, and savoury canapés.

🍰 Middle Eastern Buffet: Signature kofta, creamy labneh, smoky roasted eggplant, and handmade pita.

There is a shift in the gardens right now that’s hard to beat. The air is crisper, the light is softer, and honestly, it’s the best time of year to find a quiet corner of the lawn without the summer heat.

Our picnic baskets are built for these longer, cooler afternoons. We’re talking about generous portions of our rare roast beef with pickled cucumber, mini spinach & feta handmade quiche, and those little petite four cakes that are the perfect end to a walk through the turning leaves. We’ve handled all the prep and the packing - including the vegetarian options and any dietary shifts you need - so you can just collect your basket and head out.

With the Two Oceans Marathon taking place this Saturday, 11 April, the roads and the gardens will be a bit busier than usual. To make things easier for everyone, we’ve decided to keep our doors closed for the day.

We’ll be back in the kitchen and ready to welcome you on Sunday, 12 April, from 11:00 am for a proper Sunday lunch and dessert. Whether you’re resting your legs after the race or just looking for a quiet corner in the garden, we’ll have a table and something sweet waiting for you.
