🐾 We have some pretty exciting news to share from The Barker Shop family! 💜

Many of you know that we've been working behind the scenes on a completely new adventure — Luxe Purr Lounge, an upscale cat lounge + café featuring adoptable cats. 🐱☕️

And we've officially reached a BIG milestone…

📍 Luxe Purr is headed to WOODRIDGE!

We've taken a major step forward on a potential location right off I-355 and are now working through the final lease process and Village approvals.

The Barker Shop isn't going anywhere! 🐶💜 This is a completely separate business, and we're incredibly excited to bring everything we've learned from nearly two decades of serving local pet families into something brand new — this time for the cats. 🐱

We're keeping the exact location under wraps until everything is finalized, but we'll be sharing plenty more as Luxe Purr starts coming to life.

When we started dreaming about Luxe Purr Lounge , it was never just about creating a beautiful place to spend time with cats.

It was about creating a place where adoptable cats get the chance to be seen.

A place to feel safe. To be loved. To make a connection with someone who walked in just to visit… and walked out having found their new best friend. 🐈‍⬛

Anyone who has spent much time at The Barker Shop probably knows Dash, our shop cat — and judging by the attention he gets around here, we know a LOT of our Barker Shop customers are cat people too. 😹

So we’ve been working behind the scenes on something completely new…

Introducing Luxe Purr Lounge, an upcoming upscale cat café and social lounge coming to Chicago’s Western & Southwest Suburbs. 🐈‍⬛✨

Think beautiful surroundings, adoptable cats, an espresso bar, desserts, and a place designed to actually relax and enjoy spending time with cats — while also helping local rescue cats find their forever homes.

We’re still in the early stages, which means you’ll get to follow the entire journey: finding our location, designing the lounge, developing the menu, partnering with rescues and eventually meeting the cats themselves.

And considering how many of you come into The Barker Shop and immediately ask “Where’s Dash?” 😂, we have a feeling some of you are going to love this.

Meet Tony. 💙

Tony hasn't had the easiest start in life. For much of his life, he didn't receive the love, attention, or companionship that every dog deserves. Despite that, his gentle spirit still shines through.

Today, Tony came to visit us at The Barker Shop, and we were so proud of him. He was a little nervous (understandably!), but also incredibly curious about all the new sights, sounds, smells, and people around him. Most importantly, he showed no signs of aggression—just a sweet boy trying to figure out this big new world.

Right now, Tony is safe and being cared for by one of our amazing clients, who graciously opened their home to him while he waits for his forever family.

Tony deserves a home where he'll finally know what it's like to be truly loved, spoiled, and included. If you think you might be the perfect match, reach out to us [email protected] and we'll help arrange a meet & greet.
