We just wanted to take a minute to say THANK YOU for all the likes, comments, shares, and support you showed our hand-drawn flyer over the weekend. The banter was fun, entertaining, and honestly way more than we expected. Our engagement and following went through the roof, and we appreciate every single one of you for playing along.
The response was so good that we’re already working on our next masterpiece… so stay tuned. We may even have a fun little contest coming your way soon.
But now it’s time to get back to the business of good food and good moods.
The weather is warming up, but apparently we’re emotionally attached to soup season and refuse to let go just yet.
Today’s special is a deconstructed shepherd’s pie soup — all the cozy flavors you know and love, but in soup form. Seasoned beef, vegetables, rich savory broth, and gnocchi standing in for the traditional mashed potatoes.

Recently we were publicly scolded by a couple of people for using AI to generate some flyers. One even posted an example of something they would rather see than AI. It looked like a child had drawn it. Well, challenge accepted!! This one is for you “Ness” and “Chris”. Now maybe you can come down and patronize our store for the first time. We will patiently wait. We’ve only been around since 1852 after all!

Well… apparently we got our wires crossed and completely missed the fact that Cinco de Mayo actually landed on Taco Tuesday this year. Rookie move. 🌮🤦‍♀️

BUT we’re making up for it today in the most delicious way possible.

Two of our favorite local locals, Mike and Lew, are already soaking up the sunshine and diving into our housemade Al Pastor-ish street tacos. Think tender carnitas-style shredded pork with all those smoky, sweet, tangy Al Pastor flavors we love. Topped with cilantro, onions, jalapeño lime slaw, and pickled red onions, then served with crispy chips and salsa. Honestly… these might deserve their own holiday.

And don’t forget — tonight is Locals Night at Sizemore’s Country Store. Around here “locals” just means people who like good food, cold drinks, great conversation, and leaving with a few new friends. Everybody is welcome.

Come hungry. Stay awhile. Cause a little trouble. 🌮
