Happy Birthday, Julia Child! 🎂👩🍳
Today we celebrate the birthday of Julia Child, a culinary trailblazer who helped transform the way Americans cook, eat, and think about food.
Julia shared a special friendship with James Beard. As two of the most influential figures in American culinary history, they championed good food, respected the craft of cooking, and helped bring chefs and American cuisine into the national spotlight. Their friendship and influence continue to inspire generations of culinary professionals.
That legacy is coming to life right here in Coastal Virginia through the Beard at the Beach Culinary Series benefitting the James Beard Foundation.
On September 5, Chef Mary Cook will present “The Recipes of Julia Child,” a hands-on cooking experience celebrating Julia’s timeless recipes, techniques, fearless enthusiasm, and groundbreaking role for women in the culinary industry.
