✨ As we close out the month of April, we’re taking a moment to reflect with gratitude.
None of this would be possible without Chef/Owner Rodney Einhorn—the vision, the passion, and the heart behind it all. 🐢
We asked him a few questions to share his perspective as we celebrate 20 incredible years and look ahead to the next chapter.
Here’s to where we’ve been—and everything still to come. ✨
⸻
What inspired you to open Terrapin 20 years ago?
“My dad was a retired dentist and an incredible home cook. The idea behind Terrapin was simple—make great food, deliver exceptional service, and have fun doing it.”
⸻
Did you ever imagine Terrapin becoming what it is today?
“It’s exceeded my expectations in so many ways. The relationships we’ve built over the years have been the most unexpected and rewarding part.”
⸻
A moment in the last 20 years that stands out the most?
“Making my last loan payment.”
⸻
What do the next 20 years of Terrapin look like in your eyes?
“More friends, more good food. We need more independent, stand-alone restaurants to keep the Virginia Beach vibe alive.”
⸻
If you could sum up 20 years in one sentence, what would it be?
“What a long, strange trip it’s been.” — a nod to Grateful Dead 🎶
⸻
✨ A final note from Rodney:
“Thank you for giving me and my family a chance to feed you ‘damn good food.’”
