WE GOT TIRED OF WAITING—SO WE STARTED BUILDING.
People see the pretty posts.
The logo…the plans…
What they don’t see is the real work behind those posts.
They didn’t see work on freezing and hot days, clearing trash, cutting grass, tearing down buildings, digging trenches and doing whatever we could ourselves to keep moving forward.
They also didn’t see the moments when we needed guidance, communication and service—but were left to figure out the next step on our own.
This process showed us exactly what it feels like to be forgotten and dismissed.
We could keep complaining about it—or we could build on our experiences.
Over time, our purpose became clearer: create what we wish we had access to. A place where people can eat, gather, celebrate and feel genuinely welcomed and considered.
A place where people could experience what real true hospitality and good customer service is supposed to be.
And build it right where we grew up.
Not in the part of University City that receives ALL the attention, but in the part too often forgotten—yet filled with some of its deepest history.
