For 90 years, the Clover Club has been more than just a neighborhood tavernāit has been part of the story of downtown Tiffin.
Our building at 266 S. Washington Street was built in 1896, beginning its life as Dehmer & Sons Ci**rs. Over the years it served as a cigar factory, confectionery, candy shop, soda fountain, and even weathered Prohibition before eventually becoming the Clover Club we know today.
On June 5, 1936, Leon and Grace Fetzer, along with Paul and Anna Kleinhenz, held the Clover Clubās soft opening. Just five days later, on June 10, 1936, the Clover Club officially celebrated its grand opening, beginning a tradition that has lasted nine decades.
Through the years, generations of owners have cared for this special place, each leaving their mark while preserving its welcoming spirit. From the Fetzer family to John Fetzer, Gary Gruss and his partners, Sharon Gase, and today Randy Waire. The Clover Club has remained a gathering place where friendships are made, milestones are celebrated, and memories are created.
For 90 years, this building has witnessed countless first dates, celebrations, victories, reunions, and conversations that have become part of Tiffinās history. While many things have changed, one thing has remained constantāour commitment to serving great food, cold drinks, and providing a place where everyone feels at home.
Weāre looking for your help!
