Many of you have reached out with love, concern, and kindness for our beloved barista, Cass--and we cannot thank you enough. Cass isn't just part of the Bailiwicks team...she IS Bailiwicks. She's family. She's laughter behind the counter, sunshine on hard days, and a pillar in of our community well beyond our walls.
On October 31, Cass received a rare cancer diagnosis affecting her right knee. Over the past six weeks, she has met every doctor's appointment, every unknown, and every hard conversation with the bravery, optimism, and fire that make her who she is. Today, she undergoes a procedure called rotationplasty and will later be fitted for a prosthetic. Her doctors are confident that this is the best option for living the vibrant, joy-filled, unstoppable life we all know and love for her.
As you can imagine, the journey ahead comes with significant medical costs, recovery needs, and prosthetic expenses--and many of you have asked how you can help. At Bailiwicks Coffee Company, we believe fiercely in community, in showing up, and in making sure no one fights alone.
Will Cass's full permission, we are opening a grassroots fundraiser to support her however she needs in the coming months.
