Having grown up in a custom bakery, it’s hard to explain just how much fun this industry really is.

I’m a fourth-generation baker, so I didn’t grow up around a normal kitchen. I grew up around 80-quart mixers, buttercream on my shoes, and hairnets in every bag I own. I left and worked other jobs, but I found my way back here.

Honestly, somewhere along the way I realized we’re not really in the cake business.

We’re in the business of celebrating people.

Birthdays. Weddings. Baby showers. Graduations. Memorials. The “just because” slice after a really hard day.

We get invited into some of the most important moments in people’s lives, and that’s something I never take for granted. Yes, we make cake but what we’re really making is a moment that brings people together.

My family started this bakery because they believed baking is an art. It’s the art of making something beautiful, something delicious, and something that becomes part of someone’s memories. And after growing up here, I still think that’s one of the coolest jobs in the world.
