Big shout-out and thanks to Breadroot Natural Foods Co-op for inviting us to their event this last Saturday. It was great meeting lots of new people and being able to bring quite a few people some great new knives for their kitchens as well as putting some fresh, new edges on some dull blades! We appreciate the opportunity and look forward to working together in the future!

🎉🔪 FOUR YEARS OF SODAK SHARP! 🔪🎉

With all the craziness life has thrown my way lately, I nearly let October 10th slip by without realizing it marked FOUR YEARS of SoDak Sharp! 🤯

Four years?! Looking back at where this all started and seeing what it has grown into is pretty incredible. What began as a simple sharpening setup and a slow process has turned into something I genuinely love doing, and the journey has been a whole lot of fun!

Let’s take a quick trip down memory lane! 👇

🔹 Back to the beginning: I started with a pretty basic setup and a sharpening process that got the job done, but definitely wasn't winning any speed records! 😂 As business picked up, I invested in equipment to improve efficiency and get your items back to you faster.

🔹 Farmers market days: Bringing SoDak Sharp to the farmers markets was a HUGE step forward! Getting to see so many familiar faces each summer, meet new customers, and bring those dull edges back to life week after week has been one of the best parts of this adventure. ❤️

🔹 The mobile workshop: After enough weeks of loading and unloading the truck, I decided there had to be a better way! Enter the enclosed trailer, which has made life easier, improved efficiency, and opened the door to more commercial sharpening opportunities. 😎

And now, we're starting a new chapter here in Sturgis! Moving the business has brought some exciting opportunities, and I'm looking forward to building even more connections throughout the Northern Hills and finding new ways to serve our community.

Seriously, thank you to every single person who has trusted me with your items over the past four years. Whether you've brought me a single kitchen knife, stopped by the farmers market every summer, trusted me with your business's sharpening needs, or recommended SoDak Sharp to a friend, you've played a part in making this business what it is today.

I'm especially grateful to those of you who take the time to spread the word or leave an online review. Those little things make a BIG difference for a small business like mine. We're sitting just shy of 100 five-star reviews ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ and approaching 800 Facebook followers! Those numbers might not seem huge to everyone, but they mean a lot to me. Every review, referral, follow, and returning customer helps keep this dream moving forward!

As a veteran-owned small business, being able to build something of my own while serving the people and businesses around me has been incredibly rewarding. I'm proud of how far SoDak Sharp has come, but I'm even more excited about where we're headed!

🚀 Year five, let's go! I'm looking forward to continuing to improve, finding new ways to serve you, growing our commercial routes, and helping even more people get back to cutting their best.

Thank you for an incredible four years. Your support means more than you know, and I can't wait to see what the next four bring!

🔪🇺🇲 Business/Life Update! 🇺🇲🔪

It's been a bit quiet here on Facebook lately but that's because our lives have been anything but quiet 😂. With our move pretty much done, kids in school/several activities, and working overnights at my full time job life has been pretty hectic. I'm hoping that we are starting to get in a good rhythm and things will be a bit more manageable, so I should be posting more often.

That all said, sharpening has not stopped. I have put out the drop boxes on our front porch at our new address. Feel free to drop off items for sharpening when it is convenient for you. As a reminder, it is typically a 2-3 day turnaround for drop off sharpening. Instructions are still on top of the boxes and I will work on getting new video instructions made.

The new address is:
2167 Ferguson Dr, Sturgis.

One event on the horizon to keep an eye on will be October 10th from 10am - 4 pm at Breadroot Natural Foods Co-op in Rapid City. They have an event going on that day and have invited me to be part of it and offer on-site sharpening. More info will be coming out as we get closer, but I was excited to happen to be available that particular day. So keep your eyes 👀 posted for more details!
