• Friday pickup: Order by Thursday at 5 PM.
• Saturday pickup: Order by Friday at 5 PM.

All pre-orders close one day before pickup at 5 PM.

Everything is handcrafted in small batches, and we'll have a few extra goodies available during pickup hours, while supplies last!

I've been a little off the radar lately, but I've been working on something special that I'm finally ready to share with you.

I'm so happy to introduce 𝗟𝗮 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝗲𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗮 – 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗻 𝗕𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲, a new little adventure and part of our beloved Patas Azules family!

🥖 We'll soon be offering traditional handcrafted breads, beautiful Latin-inspired pastries, and some absolutely delicious empanadas that I think you're going to LOVE!

For now, 𝗟𝗮 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝗲𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗮 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲 𝗮 𝗽𝗿𝗲-𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗶𝗰𝗸𝘂𝗽 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲𝘁. We don't have a separate bakery production facility just yet, so I'll still be making everything in our certified kitchen. And yes, you guessed it... my dear food truck! ❤️

We're still getting everything ready, and I'll be sharing more details about our menu, ordering process, and pickup arrangements very soon.

𝗦𝗨𝗠𝗠𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗘𝗧! Fresh out of the oven 🫰

I just finished a small batch of 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶 𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗻 𝗹𝗼𝗮𝘃𝗲𝘀 and they turned out SO good! Perfect size for sandwiches. 🥖

Nothing fancy here — 𝘀𝗮𝗹𝘁, 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿, 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗳𝗹𝗼𝘂𝗿, 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗼𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲. That’s it.

They’re soft and tender inside with a beautiful light crust. I purposely don’t make the crust super hard because… we have to protect our gums 🫶. But if you like yours extra crispy, nothing a hot toaster can’t fix!

This is a 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵, so I only have a few available today.

𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗺𝗲 𝗮 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗼 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲. 🫰

I’ve officially started working on the bakery side of Patas Azules, and this little batch makes me very happy.

It took me a few days to fine-tune this recipe. Working with 𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗿𝗲 takes patience — fermentation can’t be rushed, and finding that exact point where the dough has fermented and proofed just right took a few tries. But I finally got there: a soft, fluffy bread with a beautiful butter vanilla crust.

This is one of those breads I really miss from home. Recreating the flavors I grew up with is probably one of my favorite ways to share a little piece of where I come from. 🇪🇨

And because apparently I can’t leave anything alone 🥰, I added 𝟭𝟬𝟬% 𝗘𝗰𝘂𝗮𝗱𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗰𝗮𝗰𝗮𝗼 to one corner — dark, slightly bitter, with a touch of cinnamon and clove — and finished it with roasted pistachios, my mom’s favorite.❣️

Now I keep staring at them because they’re almost too pretty to eat. Almost. 🤔

𝗔 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝘂𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗺𝘆 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁… ❣️

After a beautiful and incredibly busy season, it is time for me to give my hands the rest they are asking for.

Months of repetitive work have taken a toll on my wrist, and right now I can barely move my right hand enough to keep operating the food truck.

Because everything we serve is truly handmade, 𝗺𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗺𝘆 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝘂𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲. And right now, they need a break.

Every empanada, every plate and every crazy long day was worth it. 🫶 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗮𝘀 𝗔𝘇𝘂𝗹𝗲𝘀, for believing in our 100% handmade food, and for choosing something made from scratch with real ingredients.

And to everyone who drove from Rapid City, Sturgis, Spearfish, Whitewood and our surrounding communities just to eat with us: thank you ❣️ You gave us another unforgettable season.

𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱𝗯𝘆𝗲. 🌷

I am going to rest, recover and hopefully, in about couple weeks, begin a new chapter with our bakery. I cannot wait to share more of the homemade breads and seasonal things I love making. 🥐🍓

I always feel like I should be doing a thousand things, so resting feels VERY weird for me 😂 but God knows better.

For now, I am enjoying my family 💕… and apparently learning how to use my left hand. LOL.
