The History of the Inn
Ever since horse buggies visited the Clifford Lake Hotel, guests have enjoyed the charm of the area. The Inn has weathered many storms and has been in operation through many major events that have shaped our wonderful country since its beginning in 1881. The Inn welcomed travelers when cars and televisions were introduced. Guests were sitting around the Hotel discussing the

World Wars, presidents’ assassinations, and men walking on the moon. The inn has survived the Great Depression, a huge fire, and years of neglect. Regardless of the situation, the Inn has always opened its doors to welcome guests and bring warm smiles to their faces. We hope you enjoy your visit to the Inn and that you feel the warmth and love that has kept this old building running for over 135 years. Thank you for coming!

We think we can officially say most of the heat 🔥 and smoke 💨 are behind us… THANK GOODNESS! 😂

There's something special about the end of a summer night at the lake.

The rush is over, the dishes are done, the laughter has faded, and the water turns still.

After hours of taking care of everyone else, you finally get a moment to stand on the deck, feel the warm breeze, and remember why you do it.

Some nights don't need fireworks. They just need calm water, a quiet sky, and gratitude for another day.
