🌳 The History Behind the Crooked Tree Coffee House Name! ☕️

Our lovely coffee house is named after the Catalpa Tree that sits on the corner of Lindenwood University’s campus at N. Kingshighway and First Capitol Drive. The Catalpa Tree is estimated to be between 120–150 years old!
Although our coffee shop isn’t quite that old, we are celebrating our 24th anniversary this year on September 10th! 🎉
Legend has it that a great and compassionate Indian chief was laid to rest under that Catalpa Tree. The tree was so saddened by his passing that it bowed over his grave, never to stand straight again. And that’s how the Crooked Tree got its name! 🌳
We are so excited to welcome a new school year and see all the fresh faces coming in to study from the nearby universities and schools. 📚☕️
When you stop by, our Crooked Tree crew is ready to serve up come cold brew to you! Did you know we serve brewed in house cold brew? It takes over 24 hours to make each batch! We think that an ice cold drink is perfect to study with! 🧊☕️📓
If you are a Lindenwood Lion, just know that part of the Crooked Tree is a Lion too! 🦁💛🖤
Stop on by and visit us at 559 First Capitol Dr, Saint Charles, MO 63301!

Our Hours:

Monday–Friday: 6 AM–6 PM

☀️ Good afternoon from The Crooked Tree Coffee House! ☕

We wanted to share a quick parking update with everyone!

Our new neighbors at The Corner Bar have begun exterior renovations, which means our upper parking lot has fewer available spaces for the time being. We’re excited to see their improvements come to life and appreciate your patience during the process!

If our lot is full, we kindly ask that you use the nearby street parking on South Benton or South 6th Street. Please be respectful of posted parking signs, driveways, and our neighboring businesses.

💛 While we’re talking about great neighbors… If you’re looking for a trusted place for doggy daycare or boarding, we highly recommend Hounds Town right across the street! Their amazing team takes exceptional care of every four-legged guest.

Thank you for your understanding, your support, and for helping us be great neighbors. We can’t wait to welcome you in for your favorite coffee soon! ❤️☕

Ever wonder why you are so jealous of The Crooked Tree Coffee House ceiling? 🤔
That is because our ceiling isn’t just a ceiling, it tells our story! From the moment you walk in our cozy coffee house, the warm copper embrace from above welcomes you in. Our Owners, Stein and Julie, removed the ceiling by hand from the original building before it was demolished. They then placed it up piece by piece into our current building. So next time you’re waiting on your favorite drink, don’t forget to look up. You might just discover your new favorite detail. ☕✨
