🍷 Ritrovo Wine Special

🍷 From Umbria, Montefalco Rosso was actually Caprai's first wine. They first produced it in 1973, using essentially the same formula you have today: 70% Sangiovese, 15% Sagrantino and 15% Merlot.

Caprai is one of the producers credited with bringing Sagrantino back from near extinction. In the 1970s there were fewer than ten hectares of it left. This is their Montefalco Rosso—mostly Sangiovese, but with 15% Sagrantino, which gives it that darker, more powerful, distinctly Umbrian character.
