Today while downtown, I asked someone a simple question: “Have you tried the new restaurant down the street?”
They enthusiastically said yes and immediately told me, “You NEED to try the burrito bowl.”
That got me thinking. When was the last time you gave someone a suggestion to try somewhere new? A new restaurant, a new shop, a new park, or even just a new place to sit and enjoy the day?
I left, but came back down the street a little while later and decided to grab lunch there. And I’m so glad I did. Friendly service, beyond delicious food, and flavors that honestly brought me right back to my childhood.
And with this story, I’m asking one simple thing.
Next time you’re out and about, ask someone what they recommend. Better yet, offer up your own favorite place. Tell someone about that restaurant you love. That little shop they might not know about. The park where you like to sit. The place that made your day better.
One simple suggestion can change so many people’s days.
For the person discovering somewhere new.
For the business owner who gets another customer through the door.
And for our entire downtown, sometimes all it takes is one person saying, “You should really try that place.”
