What a special full-circle experience to visit Casale del Giglio in Italy—a vineyard whose wines we are proud to pour and share with our guests at Carmelo’s. Walking the vineyard, learning its story, and tasting the wines right where they are created gave us an entirely new appreciation for every bottle. Founded in 1967, Casale del Giglio began with just a few grape varieties and, by 1985, boldly experimented with 57 different grapes to discover which would thrive best in the region. Today, their commitment to quality and innovation continues, including their Equalitas certification for high standards and sustainability. We had the opportunity to taste beautiful wines including Bellone, Cesanese and Petit Verdot—wines that we actually carry at Carmelo’s. There was something incredibly meaningful about standing in the place where these wines begin, meeting the passion behind them, and knowing that we get to bring a little piece of this Italian vineyard home to Punta Gorda and share it with all of you. 🇮🇹🍇🍷 Experiences like this remind us that wine is so much more than what’s in the glass—it’s the land, the people, the history and the story behind every bottle.
