Sur Lie is 12! 12 years ago, we opened Sur Lie hoping to be a great place to share tapas and drinks! I also wanted to create a platform for chef's to come and explore their creativity.

I think we have achieved all of the above! We've changed over the years (which I am proud of) and we've created opportunities for some of Portland's best chefs to come in and highlight their creativity. Super proud of the community we have built. Also proud to see the evolution of the restaurant industry in Portland, Maine.

"The dishes were all unique and delicious. The cabbage salad was beautiful to look at and the flavors that comprised the dish were all distinct-lime, peanut, spicy-i loved it. Kewpie scallops were enrobed in a spicy, crunchy sauce. The halibut “paella” risotto was the bomb. I loved the flavors and textures. And though the halibut was the star of the dish, there were plenty of bites of lobster. Our server, Ella, was delightful. Thank you for a delicious meal."- Thank you Susan!

"We dined at Sur-Lie last night with my niece and her girlfriend. It was one of the best dining experiences we've had ever. From the booth by the window, to the exceptional cocktails (including an excellent mocktail), sublime tapas (crab dip and bucatini were two particular favorites) and outstanding service from everyone who passed our table, we could not have been happier with our evening there.
