There’s a seat for you at Bar Carlo.

Bright flavors. Bright music. A colorful, sunlit dining room. Playful cocktails. We like to think we’re a pretty FUN place to spend an afternoon! But more than that, we hope Bar Carlo feels like a refuge.

From the beginning, we’ve tried to create a space for anyone who’s ever been made to feel like they didn’t belong. Our food was inspired by a childhood spent crossing a man-made border, from Tijuana to San Diego. But the soul of this place was shaped by crossing less visible ones: q***r spaces, immigrant spaces, and the communities that taught us that identity isn’t something to hide.

Thousands of miles from the places that inspired many of our dishes, we’ve tried to carve out a little outpost for the risk takers, where differences are welcomed, and where everyone can gather around the same table.

Here’s to the vibrancy, resilience, and rebellious beauty of the ones that refuse to be boxed in. Wherever you come from, wherever you’re headed, there’s a seat for you at Bar Carlo.
