Ten Drops derives its name from a Icelandic/Scandinavian idea "Tíu dropar." In essence, it's polite to offer a visitor coffee, but maybe you're hoping they won't hog all of it--save some for the fish! And on the other side it's maybe uncomfortable to turn down that hospitality, or rude to drink all of the available coffee... so you'd say "just ten drops"--just a little coffee!. Our goal is to brin

g independent, local, specialty coffee to Plainfield. We deserve a place to get beans that are within days of their roast date, not weeks or months. Those who understand specialty coffee, know the difference. Those who don't know what the fuss is about... maybe we can help. We will only offer things that we would be thrilled to drink. There is no good reason to drink bad coffee.

If schedules align tomorrow, we will make the first batch of this year’s Plainfield Pride blend.

This year we will be using a women’s co-op coffee from Nicaragua blended with our natural Honduras. We are looking for milk chocolate / caramel / raspberry. We might make the retail bags and let early adopters nab batch 1, but we might hold it back a day for QA cupping and analysis.

This week, we will be bringing that coffee out and debuting a Red Honey Costa Rica.

Great brunch/lunch next door. You can grab a coffee and bring it over there or you can grab food and bring it back over our way. And we still have Atrevete from 9-12! Check out their mini-pies! They’re like a “real food” version of Hostess pies!

Super hectic quick last minute update madness:

Previous Honduras Natural is sold out.
New Honduras Natural is on the shelves. Both were awesome, this one is much more “fruity.”

PNG Peaberry is almost sold out. We really enjoyed this coffee. Do you want me to get more right away, or keep rolling variation?

Replacing the PNG when this is gone, is a light medium roast of Suke Quto Washed. That coffee is FIRE as a light roast but we realized we haven’t been showing everything it can do. We have some ready right now but it’s not on the shelves. If you want it, just ask the folks to grab you some.

T shirts! We finally re-stocked a bunch of sizes. I won’t get a chance to merch them until later today or tomorrow, but the ones we’re continuing will go up on the wall and the wall ones will come down to help folks know what’s in stock. We just don’t want to take up too much customer space with this stuff.

The important part is that we remade a few that we have been told to remake by a million people (the grey and orange, the green and silver etc) and we made a few new color combos.

Also, for a few of these shirts we have stocked XLT, 2XLT and 3XLT. We will get L/T and regular XL in on the next order.

So, stuff is in stock, just you might have to ask someone to look for it until I can actually “do my darn job.”

Sunday at 11AM is ALSO Happy Belly Brunch. Atrevete Confections has you covered from 9AM til 12 for amazing sweets… Happy Belly has this amazing brunch from 11 AM til sometime in the afternoon.

Next door, tomorrow morning, Werk Force Brewing is releasing a coffee variant of their huge Chungus imperial stout. They are also selling these weird mugs (limited quantities) and we wanted to let you know that if you pick one up and want coffee in it, just bring it next door and we’ll give you a free batch brew.

In NORMAL news…

I am running behind on updating the coffees we have on offer. There’s a red and white waxed bag that has no information on it in the cafe. It’s a Honduras Lenry Ramierez Finca La Cañada NATURAL process. We get that coffee, washed process, every year. We all love it. This is the first time we’ve had the natural. I feel like it’s very balanced and pretty sweet. Sort of reminds me more of a honey process than a natural, in terms of the amount of fruit it expresses. I get milk chocolate, and a cherry finish. I’ll post Aaron’s tasting notes in the room, though.

We have about 1 more week of PNG Kinmuga Peaberry left, after which I think we are going to do a medium roast of Ethiopia Suke Quto. If you want a light roast of that coffee, message us… we will probably have some hidden in back for us punitively light-roast coffee drinkers.

Colombia Pink Bourbon is cruising along. We probably have that until June. The Finca La Cañada probably has 2 weeks left and then it’s gone, and on to another beautiful natural Honduran coffee that we’re lucky to have.

We just got word that a couple of this year’s Costa Rican coffees are on the water, so they’ll be here by summer, whether we get to them in summer or not. And we’re locked in on some more washed Ethiopia for 2026… new crops landing in the next month or so.
