Sausage drop and weekly Pirates’ “Going to Bat for Small Business” special!

Week three of being the featured small business for the Pirates’ Small Business program! We wanted to offer something super fun (and still in the color scheme), so we decided on an Amba sausage! Amba is a condiment made with fermented mango pickle- super bright, zingy, and tangy. We added this to even more mango puree, turmeric to balance out the sweet and salty, and some cilantro to add a fresh kick. This is made with pork and lamb to pack in even more flavor. Throw these on the grill to get some great char on them and then serve with herby rice, a yogurt sauce, and a fresh vegetable salad! Swipe to see our other, not themed, sausages!

Our other sausage offerings will make any weeknight dinner or weekend hang that much more delicious! We’ve got some crowd pleasers this week: the ever present Beer Brat, Hot Italian for those of you that like it spicy, and our insanely good Red Chorizo! We will have these throughout the week if you come into the shop, but give us a call if you want anything set aside. See ya!

Marinated chickens are in and ready for the grill!

We got in our chickens yesterday and decided to get some fun ones ready for the weekend! If you’re looking for a vibrant and unique appetizer for a barbecue, our Romesco wings and leg quarters would be great! Throw these one a grill or in the oven and serve alongside a fresh veggie salad, or some lemony pasta. Almonds and red peppers not for you? Our chimichurri might be! Our chimichurri is a shop favorite and is one of the best things for a summer cookout if you’re looking to elevate your offerings past the standard fare. We have whole chickens ready to be roasted over some potatoes, and leg quarters and skin-on breasts ready for the grill! Put a nice char on these and serve with some pasta salad, grilled vegetables or corn, and you’ve got a really nice addition to any summer night. Stop by in person or give us a call if you need anything set aside. See ya!

Corned Beef Hash Bricks are back!!!!

That’s right- the beloved breakfast (or lunch, or dinner, or anytime really) staple has returned to the shop! This recipe was developed by Allie and she knocked out a huge batch to make sure anyone who missed out last month has plenty of time to snag a few slices. These are made with house corned beef, potatoes, mustard, and a teensy bit of minced jalapeño. Throw this in a pan on the stove or in the air fryer for breakfast burritos, sandwiches, or just as a side for your pancakes and eggs! Stop in today at the shop to grab some or feel free to give us a call so we can set some aside for you. See ya!

We’ve got the goods!

Whether you’ve got Sunday night dinner plans, a last minute barbecue, or trying to get breakfast plans solidified for the week ahead, we have just the thing! We’ve restocked our porky baked beans and they are in our freezer! These reheat super well in the crockpot, or on the stove if you need them sooner. We also have some tasty chicken salad in our cooler! Great on crackers for a snack on the go, or on bread for a fast dinner, our chicken salad is sweet and savory, a little tangy. Nice chunks of apple and walnut, dried currants, and a house made dressing. Lastly, we have cute little packs of our Chipolata sausage! Great for a quick weekday morning, or a lowkey breakfast for dinner situation. This is an English style savory breakfast sausage with a mild seasoning blend, focaccia breadcrumbs, and fresh onion. We can’t wait to see you today!

Honored to get invited to a game with Pittsburgh Pirates and pncbank for Going to Bat for Small Business. Fat Butcher and 5 other amazing small businesses were presented with commemoration bats prior to getting recognized on the field before the game.

As Fat Butcher is the official July sponsor, we were able to see our logos up below the scoreboard and on the right field wall. Amazing.

Following the pre-game festivities, we enjoyed an evening in a World Series Suite with PNC, former winners, selection committee members, chambers of commerce representatives, and other friends of the Going to Bat for Small Business program!

The whole Fat Butcher crew will be back here on July 29th to do it again. Let's go Bucs!!!

Sausage drop is here with four new sausages!

Yesterday our team was stuffing and linking like crazy to get some new options in our case for this weekend! We re-upped on our breakfast sausage and you can find these one pound packs in our freezer. Even though our links look similar, they’re all flavor packed in their own way! Our sweet Italian is here for all of your pasta night needs. We have a fun sage sausage in both links and loose, a great low sodium option for anyone out there who may be interested or just wants more control over their salt in recipes! Our beer brats continue to be a crowd pleaser, and are making another weekly appearance! Lastly, we have a lovely Chipolata! This is an all pork sausage in a natural lamb casing. These are little breakfast links, in a savory English style! Our house made focaccia breadcrumbs, onion, and some herbs round out this great Sunday morning sausage. Stop by or give us a call to have anything set aside, see ya!

Introducing our first weekly special item and our Sausage drop!

In celebration of Fat Butcher being the featured small business in July for the Pirates’ “Going to Bat for Small Business” Program: the Black & Gold Pork Chop! This rub was developed in house by our Butcher and GM, Allie! With onion and garlic powder, mustard, brown sugar, turmeric, and more, this is a perfectly balanced sweet and savory pork chop! Ready to get caramelized on the grill or in a pan, this would make an excellent and super easy addition to a pre- or post-party meal. We will have exciting new offerings each week this month (on theme) and we hope you guys enjoy them! See ya!

We have four fresh sausages this week in the case!

We’ve got the classic Sweet and Hot Italian, our crazy good Beer Brats, and if you’re feeling adventurous- a Carolina Reaper & Cheddar! If you’re feeling sweet, savory, or insanely spicy, we’ve got you covered!

We’ll also be running some specials to celebrate (check in tomorrow) 👀 As per usual, we have a nice case today with some lamb, beef, pork, and chicken! Fourth of July preparations are underway (and some shop holiday hours)!

We have a great selection of grill options for this weekend including our own beef and pork hot dogs, Thoma wieners, and Thoma kielbasa! We will also be making a ton of sausages available later this week so keep an eye out. In addition to our sausages and hot dogs, we’ll have plenty of ground beef for burgers, and we’re trying to stock up on your favorite cuts to get you a great holiday meal. Give us a call to preorder as we can’t guarantee cuts will last through the weekend! Also, our hours for the holiday will be changing! To balance convenience for our customers and staff, we will be open regular hours this week Tuesday through Friday, open limited hours Saturday (10a-4p), and closed Sunday! We’ll keep posting reminders so you’re not out of the loop, see ya!
