I am a small, independent home baker whose basic ingredient for everything coming out of my kitchen is LOVE! I love to cook for a crowd because the dividends of a job well done really pushes my "love button", which makes me work harder on each and every job. I love watching the faces and hearing the comments of my clients almost to the point of addiction. In my book, there is nothing better than

giving and getting love from the heart, and for me it solidifies my philosophy: "The way to get to a person's heart is through their stomach" I utilize all of the recipes and cooking skills that I learned from my grandmother and my mom, as well as being self-taught on so many levels, learning as much as I can as I move along. I honed my craft by teaching high school culinary arts for 17 years. Now that I am retired, this new venture keeps me active & happy because I get to experiment with all sorts of new, delicious recipes. Everything I do is custom made to make each event special in every way possible. Because I am the sole employee, it is vital that you book your event well in advance because I will never double book myself for any reason. Quality is paramount to my success, so I will work hard to ensure that everything is produced with the highest standards possible.

It was celebration day for my nephew Danny Nesburg & his beautiful bride, Allie, at the Charlevoix Yacht Club & I was in charge of the desserts. They had an absolutely gorgeous day, which was a little sad because his mom, my sister Annette, could only watch from Heaven. πŸ˜°πŸ’

I was quite gobsmacked at the new yacht club as I was expecting the old/much smaller one across the street. It's a gorgeous venue for sure. Pigs & Eats did the catering, which was all fantastic.

Introducing my new totally gluten free dessert offering: Filled cheesecake mousse cups. These are strawberry & chocolate peanut butter, but the flavor combinations are endless! πŸ˜‰

The flavor combinations are endless as each season will dictate what goes into them. I have smaller versions going out for my nephews wedding reception on Saturday & one of them will be a peanut butter cheesecake mousse filled with chocolate ganache & topped with peanuts. I will reveal those when I reveal the entire dessert table like I normally do. πŸ˜‰

Next big event of the day was my Petoskey High School 50th class reunion at the Bayview Country Club. We had a wonderful turnout & it was so delightful to see so many old classmates to catch up with!

I was in charge of desserts so I made custom PHS hoodie sugar cookies for everyone as well as two cakes: My signature lemon blueberry & a new experiment that I'm calling the Grand Banana Royale Torte, which had all of the flavors of a banana split: Banana cream, pineapple, strawberry cream, fudgy ganache & cookie crumbles on the sides.

BUSY, BUSY days for me since celebration season has officially begun. My first order for the day was this triple layer strawberry cake with fresh strawberries & cream filling & a stabilized whipped cream outer layer. This monster truck themed cake went out to the cutest little boy, Willie Hansen, who was super adorable with free hugs & many thanks coming my way. He's just one of those cutie pies you could gobble up! πŸ’•πŸ’• He loved his cake & was ready to start playing with it hours before his party began. πŸŽ‚πŸŽ‰

It's Kristi's Day as she celebrates her 50th birthday & engagement with seven of her besties. πŸ’πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‚

Thanks to Debbie Gerard for asking me to help with the celebration by providing personalized lemon flavored tulip cookies for each guest as well as an Aunt Amy's original cake that I named the Grand Banana Royal Torte. This torte is comprised of the following layers: From the bottom up--Triple chocolate cake, pretzel chocolate Nutella crunch, cake, vanilla bean banana mousse with fresh bananas & a splash of rum, cake, pineapple compote, cake, strawberry mousse with fresh strawberries, cake. All covered in a dark chocolate ganache & cookie crumbs around the sides. It was finished with stabilized whip cream & chocolate dipped cherries & edible gold leaf.

YES, my taste buds ARE saying banana split, so I hope it translates to everyone else's tastebuds. πŸ˜‰

Today's very special celebration was in honor of Mr. Bob Larson, whom his family came together to celebrate his life. Bob was the police chief in Woodland Park, Colorado. His widow, Christine, asked me to make some custom cookies to help his friends & family remember him at the gathering. She gave me an inspiration piece of art work to go by & a request that Pike's Peak be represented. I truly hope Chris had a blessed day, surrounded by lots of loving family & friends who came with lots a great stories to tell! πŸ’πŸ’

Today's treats included mini lemon blueberry Bundt cakes, mini carrot cake Bundt cakes, gluten friendly Reese's peanut butter cup shots & caramel wrapped/chocolate dipped pretzel rods. The gluten free cake was provided by another baker so I don't know what flavor that is. πŸ˜‰

Let the wedding season begin!! πŸ’•πŸ’• My first wedding was the union of Megan & Chris Green. They had a most spectacular day for their ceremony overlooking Little Traverse Bay from my MOST favorite venue, Unity Event Center, in Petoskey.
Megan chose raspberry cheesecake shots & mini lemon blueberry cupcakes & Chris chose my signature salted caramel brownie shots with candied bacon, along with my twisted turtles, which are mini phyllo cups filled with caramel & toasted pecans, topped with chocolate ganache.
Wedding cake was a 3- layered marble cake with cream cheese icing. The overall theme/color was lavender & sage. Because the dessert table was set against a window, photos did not come out spectacularly well. 😰

Tonight was Barbershop Quartet night at my mom's assisted living facility & the seniors got entertained by an award winning quartet. Thanks to Cheryl Elgin for inviting me to provide some sweet treats to accompany the sweet tunes! I provided custom decorated Barbershop Quartet themed sugar cookies, some hummingbird cupcakes, some chocolate lovers cupcakes, and some lemon blueberry cupcakes.

It's a beautiful spring day for a bridal shower! These cookies are going out for Liz Hoffman's big day today. These are pure vanilla cookies with pure vanilla icing. Color scheme was gold and white, with lots of sparkles, of course! Thanks to her mama, Lanette Hoffman, for stepping back into my life to bring me some warm hugs and big smiles! πŸ₯°πŸ₯° I hope you all have a fabulous time.
