Something witchy is brewing at Urban Abbey this week! 🌙✨. Our Witch’s Brew has arrived! A wickedly delicious blend of blackberry and blueberry lemonade. Sweet, tart, and just a little magical. Stop in for a spell before it vanishes!

Join us tomorrow, October 20, at 6 PM for How to Kill a Witch: The Patriarchy's Guide to Silencing Women, a special book club gathering with the Women's Fund of Omaha. We'll explore witch trials, patriarchy, and what history can tell us about our current context.

This morning at Urban Abbey, we reflected on the sacredness of boundaries during our Sunday service. Thank you, Hayley Haas from , for joining us and sharing your voice during worship today!

We spent a moment in Lectio Divina reflecting on Matthew 5:37: “Let your ‘Yes’ be yes, and your ‘No’ be no.” Our yes matters. Our no matters. And honoring the boundaries of others is an act of love, dignity, and respect.

We were also reminded of the red doors of abbeys, historically symbols of sanctuary and refuge. A doorway can be a place of welcome, but it can also mark a boundary. Both are important.

May we continue creating a community where people feel safe to speak their truth, where stories are heard with compassion, and where boundaries are honored.

What does it mean to create a space that is both welcoming and safe?

This morning, we were grateful to welcome Jonathan Benjamin Alvarado who joined Rev. Debra and Gab in sharing reflections on identity, authenticity, courage, and the beautiful gift of being exactly who we are.
