While The Frying Pan has been part of New York City's waterfront for decades, its story started long before Pier 66.

Built in 1929, it served as a Coast Guard lightship, guiding passing vessels through rough waters before being retired. Today, it's one of the last surviving lightships in the country and continues to welcome visitors from around the world.

The Frying Pan is more than a waterfront restaurant—it's a piece of New York City history. 🗽 🏙 🚕
Home to three historic floating vessels—the Lightship Frying Pan, the vintage Lackawanna Railroad Barge, and the John J. Harvey—our venue is unlike any other in the city. The John J. Harvey, the first NYC fireboat to become a floating restaurant and event venue, helped pump water to fight the fires at the World Trade Center after 9/11 before finding its home at Pier 66.
