We’ve had a busy couple of weeks donating our tea party services to two incredible organizations, Peterborough Players and Historic New England. So busy in fact, that we forgot to take photos! Here’s one of the set up at The Players while we waited for guests to arrive, but that’s it! It’s ‘Afternoon Tea Week’ (Aug 10-16) where people across the globe celebrate the quintessential British tradition of serving a beautiful array of finger foods on a 3 tiered serving stand. Perfectly cut crustless sandwiches, fluffy English style scones and an assortment of pretty desserts. A perfect way to slow down and enjoy a visit with friends and family during the mid afternoon.
Not to be confused with ‘high tea’ which is generally shortened to just be ‘tea’ and is served much later in the day, and not on a tiered stand. Consists of pies and meats and heavier food for a more substantial meal.

Historic New England will be hosting a Regency Garden Party at their museum property, The Barrett House, in New Ipswich, NH, on August 29th. This fabulous afternoon will be part Bridgerton, part Jane Austen and a fabulous chance to dress up and enjoy period era dancing, games, crafts and of course afternoon tea! Peterborough Players will be having a theatrical production of Jane Austen’s ‘Emma’ this August. Running from the 12th to the 23rd. Silver Scones has been asked to host a British Cream Tea on August 22nd in celebration of this wonderful show. Tea will be served at the Player’s theater in Peterborough and tickets are on sale now for both the play and the cream tea. See their website for details and to purchase seats. Nothing indicates we are closer to Halloween than The Rocky Horror Picture Show, our third themed tea in October. This tea party is not for the faint of heart but the antici….pation is oh, so fabulous! Dress your best, whether you’re a Janet, Brad, Columbia, Eddie, Magenta, Riff Raff or the outrageous Frank-N-Furter, we will time warp together as we enjoy an extraordinary afternoon tea.
