Tomorrow’s the day, Nocturnal friends. 🖤 Our new merch is finally here.

This release feels a little different to me, so I wanted to tell you a little about what’s behind it.

This year has been a lot for a lot of small businesses. Prices keep going up. Finding and keeping great employees isn’t always easy. Life still happens, families still need you, and owning a business doesn’t make any of those everyday struggles disappear. Sometimes it actually adds a few more.

So I have to give it up for my daughter. 🖤

Hannah doesn’t have nearly as much time to sit down and create as she used to. She’s running a business, managing a staff, raising Salem, creating menus, making a million decisions…and somehow she still finds the time because she wants you to have something special from Nocturnal each Halloween.

And the coolest part? Hannah draws and designs these herself. These aren’t just shirts we picked out of a catalog. They come from her, from Nocturnal and from the story we’ve been telling since the beginning.

Our first year brought We Are the Monsters. Then came our Circus Crew. And for Year 3, she went with something that hits pretty close to home:

REMEMBER WHO YOU ARE, WEIRD KID. 🖤

Because “weird” was never an insult in our family. It was practically inherited. 😂 I was an ’80s weird kid, Hannah was our ’90s/2000s weird kid, and somewhere along the way we realized being different was something worth celebrating.

Maybe you were the artistic kid. The goth kid. The horror kid. The book kid. The kid who loved the movies, music or clothes nobody else understood. Maybe you never quite fit into the box everyone thought you should.

Whatever generation you grew up in, if you were the weird kid, you know.

And maybe that’s one of the reasons Nocturnal became what it is. A place where being a little different has always felt right.

Tomorrow we release our new Halloween T-shirt and hoodie, our Year 3 T-shirt, and a fun new crewneck sweatshirt with a little twist on our original monster design. All dreamed up and designed by Hannah.

I’m proud of her. I’m proud of what Nocturnal has become. And I love that three years later, the weird kids are still finding each other here.

Looking for something a little different to do tonight? 🕯️

Thursday nights at Nocturnal are already pretty special, but tonight we’re adding a little mystery, candlelight and some wonderfully spooky storytelling!

Come in, grab your favorite fall latte, fresh chai, c***r or moon milk, and enjoy the cozy, spooky atmosphere of Nocturnal.

Or, if you’re feeling a little adventurous, step into our Marketplace for SHADOWED SIPS!

We’ve partnered with the Monroe County Museum System for an evening of FREE dramatic readings by candlelight. It’s one of our favorite October traditions!

Tonight’s story is The Modern Prometheus by Mary Shelley! ⚡

Readings begin at 7:00, 7:30 & 8:00 PM.

🎟️ Admission is FREE, but you MUST have a ticket! Tickets are available at our counter starting at 3 PM, and seating is limited, so we highly recommend coming early to claim yours.

And don’t forget to try our Modern Prometheus, a delicious combination of organic lemonade, ceremonial matcha and a syringe of our house-made fresh strawberry syrup! 🩸

Not interested in the readings? That’s perfectly fine too! Our coffee shop will still be open serving all your fall favorites.

Thursday nights were made for something a little strange. 🕯️

Come in today, grab something from our Remember Who You Are, Weird Kid fall menu, find a cozy spot and enjoy the coffee shop. But if you’re looking for something a little extra tonight…step into our Marketplace for Shadowed Sips.

Tonight’s story is The Modern Prometheus by Mary Shelley—and if you know Nocturnal, you know Frankenstein is kind of a big deal around here. It’s a favorite at Nocturnal and maybe a tiny bit of an obsession for our owner.

Our friends from the Monroe County Museum System will bring the story to life with dramatic candlelit readings at 7:00, 7:30 & 8:00 PM. Tickets are FREE and available at our counter beginning at 3 PM. Seating is limited, so we recommend coming early to grab your ticket.

And of course, tonight deserves its own drink…

We have a FUN few days coming up at Nocturnal…because October is not the month for boring. 🎃

It starts tomorrow night with Shadowed Sips! 🕯️ We’re partnering with the Monroe County Museum System to transform our Marketplace into a candlelit evening of dramatic readings from classic spooky stories. Tomorrow begins with The Modern Prometheus by Mary Shelley, with readings at 7:00, 7:30 & 8:00 PM.

Tickets are FREE and available at the counter beginning at 3 PM, but seating is limited, so we recommend coming early to grab yours! And remember—each Shadowed Sips evening has its own one-day-only drink inspired by the story.

Then comes FRIDAY…NEW MERCH DAY! After all those boxes we’ve been hiding, you finally get to see what’s inside! We’re releasing our new Nocturnal Halloween shirt AND hoodie, a special Year 3 T-shirt, and a fun new crewneck sweatshirt we think you’re going to love.

And then there’s Saturday…

We have another DAY-ONLY DRINK coming, and this one is quite literally TO DIE FOR. 💀

The leaves are changing, the nights are getting cooler, Halloween is getting closer…and our Remember Who You Are, Weird Kid fall menu is waiting for you.

Come celebrate the season with a cozy moon milk, our slow-simmered apple c***r, a fall latte, fresh house-made chai, or go completely nostalgic with one of the drinks inspired by the movies that raised us.

We’re up early again today, serving coffee from 9 AM–3 PM…but we have something pretty special to celebrate. 🖤

We are so proud and grateful to announce that for the THIRD YEAR IN A ROW, Nocturnal has been voted #1 Best Coffee Shop in the Best of Monroe Community Choice Awards! 🏆🖤

Three years. Three wins. And we truly couldn’t do it without all of you.

Nocturnal started with a lot of hopes, dreams and a love for really good coffee. Watching this community embrace our little family-owned coffee shop the way you have means more than we could ever put into words.

And we absolutely could not do any of it without our incredible staff. They work hard, care about what they serve, put up with all of our crazy ideas, and help make Nocturnal the place you know and love. This award belongs to them, too.

And then there’s YOU. You walk through our doors, bring your friends and family, share our posts, support our events, tell people about us and take the time to vote for us year after year.

We never want to take that kind of support for granted.

So from our family and our entire Nocturnal crew, thank you, Monroe. Thank you for supporting local. Thank you for supporting our staff. Thank you for believing in this little coffee shop.

September gave us a pretty good chance to get to know our fall menu…so now we want to know: what’s YOUR favorite so far? 🎃

Was it Do You Like Scary Movies? with that house-made apple spice? Maybe It Can’t Rain All the Time with cold brew, chai and pumpkin? Are you a We Are the Weirdos caramel apple c***r person? Did Can I Keep You win you over with Ghost Energy, lemonade, cream soda and that marshmallow goodness? Or maybe you went cozy with Because You Asked Me To, our cinnamon pecan moon milk.

We all have favorites around here, and I think mine might be You Have Bewitched Me. 🖤 It probably isn’t fair because I’m slightly obsessed with Nocturnal’s house-made maple syrup already—and this takes it and adds some pretty delicious twists. Cinnamon maple latte, salted maple whipped cream and caramel…yes, please.

But October is here, which means there’s still plenty of time for my favorite to change.

Your Tuesday morning coffee is waiting…and today you get a little shopping with it!

Our Fall Tuesday Market is back today from 10 AM–2 PM, and our Marketplace is filled with some wonderful local small businesses. Grab your favorite fall latte, fresh chai, house-made c***r or morning coffee and take a stroll through the market.

Come in grab a coffee and shop for a friend, start a little holiday shopping—or find something you absolutely didn’t need but suddenly can’t leave without.

Supporting small businesses really does matter, and we love being able to give these talented local makers a place to share what they do.

Our Fall Tuesday Markets are BACK! 🎃

We took a little break last week because our Marketplace was taken over with boxes and boxes of NEW Nocturnal merch that needed to be unloaded, organized and priced for our big merch release this Friday! 👀 But tomorrow, our small businesses are back!

We have three Tuesday Markets this October — October 6, 13 & 20 from 10 AM–2 PM — and then we’re going BIG on October 24 with our Year 3 Birthday Bash & Vendor Event!

That means you have four chances this month to SHOP SMALL. And we really hope you do.

These small businesses put so much time, creativity and heart into what they make. Your purchase might seem like a small thing, but to a small business, it matters. They need you. Every purchase, share, recommendation and person who shows up makes a difference. 🖤

Tomorrow we welcome Cuppy de Cakes, Haley’s Design Corner, Reece’s Little Pieces, Sweet Galaxy Baker & Vandevelde Farm.

Vendors are here 10 AM–2 PM (or until sold out) and Nocturnal is open 9 AM–3 PM.

Looks like Saturday at Nocturnal is getting dark, decadent and just a little bit dangerous.

Today’s DAY-ONLY DRINK is the Mistress of Dark Chocolate Latte—inspired by the legendary horror-host glamour of Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, who’s been making spooky look fabulous since the ’80s. Big hair, bigger personality, a wicked sense of humor and enough camp to make Halloween a year-round lifestyle. Sound like anyone you know?

Our friends at Cakes by Stephanie created our beloved Mistress of Dark Chocolate Cookie, and we decided…why should the cookie have all the fun?

So we turned that dark little beauty into a latte.
