Less Than 24 Hours!!!!!
Is what I wanted to post today as we pushed through hurdle after hurdle, especially over the last 72 hours. We have been working so very hard to bring a dream I’ve had for some time now to life. Last night we were coming down the home stretch, one last detail that we couldn’t iron out, but had a game plan for today to get us to open.
Until,
2am this morning, someone was more eager to see the inside of the unit before our Friday soft launch. All the equipment, tools, accessories, our stuff, was taken. We have the camera footage, although grainy, we have an idea. The Lake County Sheriff’s Office has been in contact with me all day. Although we probably will never see the stuff again, and with insurance being as finicky as it is, probably just a straight up loss.
Defeated is an understatement. Had a visit from a past employee and she mentioned that I was dreaming this when she was still here. The mock up is what I’ve had on my phone for months. Hell, this is the vision I am laying out for a 3 phase plan for the Taste Makers of Lake County Contest. I sat in my office watching video, just thinking I was so close, and now I was done.
Thank God for our community and my family. The outpouring support, it’s just so meaningful.
We have secured the container. It’s locked up 8 ways from Sunday. My wife, without her I don’t know how this even gets pulled off, is stocking the side shelves and coolers, the kegerator that was the project for today, well, it might get done tomorrow morning, or tomorrow at midnight. I’m not sure if we’ll pop the door open tomorrow like planned, but I’ll be damned if Parade Day won’t be the absolute best Perry’s can make it.
So, when you see me, don’t mind the bags under the eyes, it’s been a real one this week. But for now, I need to get back to work.
Thank You for every ounce of support.
We can’t wait to make our community proud.
God Bless.
