When we took over the old Cowpoke Cafe, we knew we were stepping into a place that meant a lot to Middletown.

Cowpoke was a local legend, and we understood right away that places like this are more than just restaurants — they hold memories, traditions, and community history.

When we renamed it Stonehouse, our goal was never to erase what came before us. It was to build on it, bring new energy into the space, and create something that honored the past while growing into something new.

At first, breakfast and lunch were our main focus. But over time, more and more people kept asking us the same question:

“When are you going to start serving dinner?”

So we did.

We wanted Stonehouse to become a place where people could gather at the end of the day for good food, cocktails, local wine, conversation, and a comfortable atmosphere without leaving Middletown.

Seeing the dining room come alive on Friday and Saturday nights has been incredibly rewarding, and we’re grateful for everyone who has supported us through the transition from Cowpoke Cafe to Stonehouse.

A few new updates around the Stonehouse! 👀

First off… WE FINALLY GOT OUR BLINDS UP! 🎉
Not only will they help keep the building cooler during the summer heat, but they’ll also save our dinner guests from getting personally attacked by the evening sun 😂☀️

That being said… they turned out a little darker than we expected 😅 so if you drive by and think we’re closed, check for the glowing LED OPEN sign before giving up on us!

Secondly — if you’ve noticed the giant new signs on our garbage and recycling bins, there’s a reason for that too 🙃
Between delivery drivers blocking pickup access and people treating our cans like public dumping stations, our garbage company was NOT having a good time. Apparently the locked gate alone wasn’t getting the message across, so signage and cameras have officially entered the chat 📸🚮

Also… if you happened to witness me and a delivery driver yelling at each other in the street last week — I’m sorry you had to see that, but in my defense… he started it 😜

Huge shoutout to Middletown Mail & More and Vehicle Registration Services for the beautiful signage and insanely quick turnaround! They knocked it out of the park as always 🙌
