Happy International Sushi Day, Miami! 🍣 Who’s ready to celebrate with some Uchi tastings? We’ll see you soon.

✨ Sushi Tips and Tricks from our Chefs ✨

· Starting light and finishing with a rich savory dish is the best way to start and finish a meal
· You are encouraged to use your hands to eat nigiri and flip it upside down so the fish hits your tongue first
· Putting salt, pepper, and garlic on fish makes for an amazing bite
· If you want to learn to cut fish, start with a smaller "round" fish, like Mediterranean Sea Bass. Once you get that down, you can get most of the fish in the sea
· Number one piece of advice for making sushi rolls at home is to be careful not to over prep. One bell pepper is enough for 10 rolls minimum, same for one carrot or one English cucumber
· When rolling your sushi, wrap your bamboo mat with plastic wrap to keep the rice from sticking when you press your rolls, and remember to keep your hands damp so the rice doesn't stick
· A great way to sear fish skin on is in a medium hot pan with a touch of oil, skin side down. The trick is to hold the piece of fish down for a few seconds to combat the natural curling of the skin

✨ Thank you Chef Cyrus of Uchi Miami, Chef Shannon of Uchi Austin, Chef Jesus of Uchi Denver, and Chef Ngyuen of Uchiko Austin for these great tips!
