Join us for one night only at Holy Basil Atwater Village as Chef Jeff Chanchaleune of Ma Der and Bar Sen heads to Los Angeles for a special Laos × Thailand collaboration with Chef Deau.
Jeff is a four-time James Beard Award nominee and one of the leading voices bringing Lao cuisine to the national conversation. His first restaurant, Ma Der, earned spots on Bon Appétit’s 50 Best New Restaurants and The New York Times’ Best Restaurants lists, while his newest concept, Bar Sen, has already earned national acclaim and a 2026 James Beard Award nomination.
For one night, Jeff and Deau will be cooking the food that shaped them—drawing inspiration from the streets, markets, and family tables of Laos and Thailand. Expect bold flavors, regional specialties, and a menu that celebrates the deep connections and distinct identities of two neighboring cuisines.
