Offering up this trial run of a sorta farm share for those interested in raising their own proteins but lack the infrastructure &/or know how. I'll do the day to day, you pay for the piglet (I will find a quality animal) & feed. In the end I'll take the hog to the butcher where you can pick up your very own fresh pork, spring 2027.
In return I'm asking for a couple hours a month in farm help: fence clearing, w**d eating, w**ding, prepping garden beds, animal feeding..ect. or if you had something specific you and your family are interested in learning at the same time. This is a trial run so who knows...I made it up on the fly while walking the meat section shaking my head. 💰 😢

The goal of this program is to:
🐷 Introduce people into raising hogs, piglet to processing
🐷 Help families secure affordable protein
🐷 Promote self relience & family bonding ( I do prefer whole families, children & all looking to participate)

97 bales from this 1955 John Deer 14T that was my great grandfather's. Missed the first two ties then not a single one.
Matt & I went up a few years ago to Missouri, where I grew up, and drug the baler out of the woods. We got it running again with help from my dad and great uncle.
I've been instructed by my great uncle to never touch the knotter, if it ain't broke don't fix it!

That humidity & heat was no joke yesterday afternoon. Speed Stick, water & salt were heavily used to keep me from stinking & dying or at least keep me from stinking if I did die. 🔥 ☀️ 💦 😀

September 19th is the date for the Leslie, Arkansas Whittlin' & Fiddlin' Festival & I'm helping to organize the Homesteaders portion of this great event !

I'm eagerly looking for folks that love to share their knowledge or teach a skill as it applies to life on their homesteads & farms!

There's a whole wide range of teachable skills that people would love to see in action; text, send me pictures, email or call me if you have something you believe would fit right in with this festival celebrating Ozark traditions.

ALSO...there are spots for purely homesteading vendors as well: $15 if you provide a teaching aspect and $25 for purely vending.

Went down to Wear & Share in Shirley today, snagged this medicine cabinet for $5 for a little free library to have in Leslie, Arkansas. 📚 📚
I do need to add some more signage for the books & the first aid kit I put on top, in case the kids scrape a knee at the park! 🩹

I also hung up a thermos with a bowl like lid for the doggies that are near death in this heat. 🐶 It's not a lot of water & if it gets much used I can improve the concept.

Obviously, I'm creating my store front to pull the eye but I do have a desire to add something "good" to the town as well. Most good plans can hit several targets and I'm hoping these additions (bikes, books, first aid & puppy hydration) do just that. ❤️
