THE WEINER'S CIRCLE STORY
In 1983 friends, and horse training partners Barry and Larry opened The Wiener’s Circle, a hot dog business affectionately named in honor of their time spent together celebrating in the winner’s circle of many horse races. The restaurant was a fixer-upper, six hundred sq feet of potential in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood. Larry and Barry dedicated their lives to the
fledgling business, ensuring their vision for high standards, quality product and excellent service were executed flawlessly and consistently. Business went so well from inception, they we able to get their entire investment returned in just two months. As buzz for The Wiener’s Circle spread, so did the demand for the superior hot dog. Hungry and often impatient late night customers began exchanging friendly banter with Wiener Circle staff, which over the years has become an anticipated expectation for the late night Wiener’s Circle diner. It was this interactive experience of exchanging jokes and playful insults between employees and guests that attracted TruTV to approach The Wiener’s Circle for a reality show in 2012. After 30 years in the business, and just one legendary location, The Wiener’s Circle has made an undeniable cultural impact. We understand that a restaurant located within the casino will not be embracing the sometimes vulgar edge to the banter that the original location has famously maintained with its late night customers, but instead will have welcoming, friendly and upbeat service staff who will ensure that the customer has a pleasant and delicious experience. No matter the economic times our country faces, delicious food at value prices are always in demand. We are excited to share the tradition and experience of The Wiener’s Circle in a fresh new market, and prove why this Chicago dog is number one!
