Last year, our Lucino’s family showed up for someone incredibly important to us, and before anything else, I want to thank every single one of you who helped.
Many of you know Erika. She’s been by my side through this entire journey and has been a huge part of Lucino’s and everything we’ve built. Last year, her brother Julio was fighting cancer, and we dedicated one of our Pizza of the Month specials to helping him and his family. You bought the pizza, donated, shared his story, and showed up for them. We never forgot that.
Unfortunately, today I’m coming back to that same community with news we never wanted to share.
Julio lost his battle with cancer at only 38 years old.
I’m grateful I had the opportunity to know Julio, watch his children grow, and be a part of his fight. He was only three years older than me, and watching someone that young fight as hard as he did really puts life into perspective.
He leaves behind his wife and his two sons, Dominic and Isaac, with Isaac also fighting his own battle with a rare disease. Erika and her entire family are devastated and doing their best to hold each other up through an unimaginable loss.
You showed up for Julio while he was fighting. Now I’m asking our Lucino’s family to show up for his family one more time.
