Jake's Java is a purpose-driven coffee shop designed to address a critical and often overlooked problem: the lack of meaningful employment opportunities for adults with and without disabilities after they age out of the school system. For many families, sup

port structures significantly diminish after age 22, leaving capable individuals without pathways to independence, purpose, and community engagement. Our solution is a high-quality, community-centered coffee shop that delivers exceptional products while intentionally creating inclusive, supportive employment opportunities for neurodivergent, disabled, and neurotypical adults. What sets Jake's Java apart is not just its mission — but its model. We combine a professional, corporate-level customer experience with structured job coaching, individualized support systems, and a workplace culture built on dignity, growth, and belonging. Jake's Java is inspired by Jacob (Jake), whose personality — joyful, unique, and full of potential — represents the heart of our brand. The business reflects these values through a welcoming atmosphere, thoughtful design, and a commitment to excellence that rivals any mainstream coffee shop. Located in the Antelope Valley area, Jake's Java will serve as both a community and neighborhood gathering place and a replicable model for inclusive business practices. We anticipate strong community support, steady foot traffic, and multiple revenue streams including specialty coffee, dirty sodas, teas, baked goods, and branded merchandise.

Someday… 🤎

Someday, Jake is going to walk through the doors of a café with his name on it.

There will be coffee being made, customers coming and going, conversations happening, and a team of adults with disabilities heading to work—earning a paycheck, learning new skills, building confidence, making friends, and being recognized for everything they can do.

Building Jake’s Java is taking a little longer than we imagined. There are grants to find, funding to secure, decisions to make, and countless details to figure out. Some weeks bring exciting milestones, and other weeks are simply about continuing to put one foot in front of the other.

But the reason we started hasn’t changed. We believe adults with disabilities deserve meaningful opportunities to work, contribute, connect, and be valued members of their community.

And someday, when we see Jake walk through those doors and watch our first employees begin their shifts, all of these little steps will have been worth it.

Until then, we keep going. 💚

Because the dream hasn’t changed. And neither has the reason behind it.

☕️ Coffee Fest LA 2026 — That’s a Wrap! 🌱

What an incredible two days! We learned SO much, made some great connections, discovered new products and ideas, and left Coffee Fest Trade Shows even more motivated to bring Jake’s Java to life.

There’s something about being surrounded by people in the coffee industry that makes this dream feel even more real. We came home with new knowledge, new contacts, and LOTS of ideas for our future café. ☕️💚

We are so glad we attended Coffee Fest LA 2026, and we’re more excited than ever to get our doors open and start Brewing PossABILITY in Lancaster!

Coffee Fest Trade Shows LA Day #1 was a HUGE success! ☕️🌱

We learned so much about the coffee business, discovered some amazing products, and—most importantly—made connections with some incredible vendors who we hope will become part of the Jake’s Java journey.

A huge thank you to Torani and Dripos for taking the time to talk with us, answer our questions, and help us learn. We can’t wait to see what we can brew together! 💚

☕ Still Brewing… and Still Building! 💚

It’s been a little quiet around here, but that doesn’t mean we haven’t been busy behind the scenes!

We’re continuing to search for grants, funding opportunities, and the right resources to help make Jake’s Java a reality in Lancaster. We’ve also been keeping our eyes open everywhere we go—looking at coffee shops, gathering ideas, and finding inspiration for what we want the future Jake’s Java space to look and feel like. ☕🌿

We’re especially thankful this week for Teresa H. and Edward H., who each made donations to help us keep moving forward. Every contribution gets us one step closer. 💚

And a reminder: anyone who donates $250 or more will be recognized on our Founding Donor Wall inside Jake’s Java. There’s still time to become part of our story from the very beginning and have your name represented in the coffee shop you helped make possible. 🤎

Later this month, Kathy, Jennifer, and our General Manager, Gracie, are also heading to Coffee Fest LA! We’ll be learning, tasting, connecting with vendors, and gathering even more ideas for Jake’s Java. 👯⭐️☕

There may not be a ribbon cutting just yet, but there is plenty happening behind the scenes.

📍 We can now officially share that Jake’s Java will be opening in Lancaster! While we’re not quite ready to announce the exact location, we’re excited about the progress we’re making.

Earlier this week, we traveled to Temecula to meet with our roaster and taste our custom blends. After sampling them ourselves, we can honestly say…

We’re excited to offer three signature blends:

Each blend was carefully selected to deliver the quality and flavor we want every customer to experience when Jake’s Java opens its doors.
