It’s almost officially spooky season, which also means it’s almost time for another Trivia Night at Bell Tower!

Monster-Themed Trivia is Wednesday, October 7th at 6:30pm, with questions covering classic horror favorites like Dracula, werewolves, the Mummy and Frankenstein’s monster. If you know your way around old-school horror, this one’s for you!

Grab your horror-loving friends and put together your trivia team to see if you can scare up a win. It’s the perfect excuse to enjoy some b**rs and get into the Halloween spirit!

It’s that time of year again! Tickets are now available for our annual Wreath Making Workshops! 🎄

Join horticulturalist Carrie Paulus on either Monday November 30th or Tuesday December 1st for a festive 2½-hour hands-on workshop and create your own beautiful, fragrant holiday wreath using freshly harvested local evergreens, pinecones, branches, berries, ribbon and a custom ceramic ornament.

Your ticket includes all the materials and hands-on instruction needed to make an 18-22” wreath, plus dinner and dessert. A cash bar will also be available with the full Bell Tower draft list, a themed cocktail menu, w**e and non-alcoholic drinks.

There are two dates available this year so there are more chances to join the fun. Tickets are available now through the link in our story, and these workshops tend to sell out quickly, so grab yours while spots are available!

After celebrating Oktoberfest at Bell Tower, it only feels right to keep the party going! 🍻

Kent Oktoberfest is coming to Downtown Kent on Saturday, October 10th, and there’s a full day of German-inspired fun planned. Start the morning with The Wurst 5K or Brat Trot 1-Mile, an untimed fun run/walk where costumes are encouraged and every registration comes with a post-race brat and beverage. Bell Tower will be providing the brats!

Then head downtown for the Oktoberfest celebration featuring seasonal b**r from Bell Tower Brewing, North Water Brewing and Ohio Beverage Distributing, German-inspired food, live music and German dancing. Bell Tower will be pouring two b**rs from this year’s first local b**r truck and serving up brats and pretzels.

And of course, there’s the Steinholding Competition. Competitors will go head-to-head for a chance to show off their stein-holding skills, with competitions at 2:30 and 5:30pm. Participants get a 1L Kent Oktoberfest mug filled with b**r to enjoy and keep. Tickets for this are available in advance, so sign up through the link in the story!

Kent State Homecoming is right around the corner!

Parents & Family Weekend this weekend and Homecoming is Saturday, October 3rd. So downtown Kent is getting in the spirit of all of the festivities. This year, Bell Tower is joining the Paint the Town Blue & Gold celebration and getting decorated for the occasion!

Starting now, while you’re exploring downtown, keep an eye out for Flash at participating businesses for a chance to win a Kent State swag basket and a $100 Kent Card. Grab a contest card at any participating location, find Flash and submit your answers online. Every 5 correct answers earns another chance to win, with all 5 chances up for grabs if you get them all correct!

Come check out the Homecoming decorations at Bell Tower, grab a b**r and a bite, and celebrate the weekend with family and friends. There’s plenty of seating for large groups, but reservations are recommended through the link in the story or bio.

Fresh hop season is here, and 15 breweries are coming together to celebrate it! 🍻

Join Bell Tower and 14 more awesome Ohio breweries on Sunday, October 11th from 5-9pm at 8th Day Brewing Co. for the Fresh Hop Festival.

Fresh hop b**rs are made with Ohio-grown hops picked at peak freshness and added to the brew within hours of harvest. That gives these b**rs a bright, grassy and resinous character that you simply can’t get from hops that have been dried and stored. And because fresh hop season only happens once a year, these b**rs are here for a very limited time.

The festival will feature samples from 15 breweries, including Birdfish, 8th Day, Bell Tower, Modern Methods, Jolly Scholar, Broadview Brewing Company, HiHO, ElevenThree, Codex, Butcher and the Brewer, Pompatus, New Berlin, New Purpose, Hop Brothers and Immigrant Son.

A Barrio food truck will also be on site serving up food to go with all that fresh b**r.

This is a b**r event that can only come around once a year. And like the hops themselves,once these fresh hop b**rs are gone, they’re gone until the next harvest.

Ohio Pint Day is coming up! 🍻 Since Bell Tower will be closed on the actual Ohio Pint Day, the celebration is happening a day late on Wednesday, September 30th!

Bell Tower is proud to partner with the Cleveland Blues Society to bring live blues and a little musical collaboration to Kent!

On the 4th Wednesday of every month from 6:30-9:00pm, musicians are invited to bring an instrument and check in with the host band so they can jump into the jam. It’s a chance to play with other musicians, meet some new people and enjoy an evening of live blues right here at Bell Tower.

The next Cleveland Blues Society Jam is happening this Wednesday, September 23rd, so grab whatever you like to play and come join in. And even if you’re not picking up an instrument, it’s a great night to grab a b**r and listen to some live local music.

Music starts at 6:30pm, see you Wednesday!

Five years of Bell Tower calls for a pretty special dinner.

Join us on Tuesday, October 13th from 5-9pm for our Fall B**r Pairing Dinner, an evening built around everything that makes Bell Tower what it is: great b**r, scratch-made food and bringing people together around the table.

This five-course dinner plus dessert pairs each dish with a Bell Tower b**r, taking you through some of the best flavors of the season. Start with Apple Bruschetta paired with German Pilsner, then move into Sausage & Squash Arancini with our Fresh Hop IPA, a Fall Salad with Fresh Hop Saison, and Squash Gnocchi paired with Festbier. The evening finishes with Seared Duck over Braised Cabbage paired with Märzen, followed by Pumpkin Crème Brûlée with Chai Strong Ale.

Head Brewer Jennifer Hermann and Executive Chef Justin Ruffing will guide guests through the pairings and the stories behind the food and b**r. It gives guests a chance to experience Bell Tower through a full evening of seasonal food and b**r, as well as some good company.

Summer is winding down, and that means it’s almost time to say goodbye to some of your favorite summer cocktails! 🍹

There’s so much history hiding in plain sight around Kent, and Ohio Open Doors is giving the community a chance to experience it!

Join Main Street Kent and the Kent Historical Society & Museum for a multi-day celebration of the historic buildings and stories that make Kent such a special place in honor of America’s 250th birthday. There are several free events and tours planned throughout the city, and Bell Tower is excited to be part of the Historic Landmark Building Tour on September 19th.

The mobile tour begins at 11am and will explore historic landmarks along River and Gougler, including the Carnegie Library, now the Kent Free Library, the former Congregational Church, now Bell Tower Brewing, Franklin Township Hall and the Unitarian Universalist Church.

It’s a pretty cool opportunity to see some of Kent’s history up close and learn more about the buildings that have helped shape the city.
