❤️ THE COFFEE POT IS COMING BACK.
The Kenosha Room is where it begins.
On August 3, 2024, everything changed.
A fire closed the doors of The Coffee Pot — a little Kenosha restaurant that had been serving this community for 20 years.
At the time, we thought we were facing a fire and a rebuild.
We had no idea what the next two years would bring.
What followed was demolition, insurance claims, engineers, architects, building codes, structural discoveries, permits, inspections, financing, construction delays — and more meetings, phone calls and paperwork than we could ever count.
Every time it seemed we had cleared one hurdle, another appeared.
Months turned into a year.
Then a year turned into two.
But through all of it, something kept happening.
People kept stopping. ❤️
When they saw us working at the building, they would pull over, walk up and ask:
“When are you coming back?”
They told us they missed breakfast at The Coffee Pot. Their favorite table. The patio. The people. The food.
Some simply said:
“Please come back.”
We don't think people realize how much those conversations have meant to us.
They reminded us that somewhere along the way, The Coffee Pot became something bigger than the people who owned it or the building that housed it.
Since 2004, The Coffee Pot has been early mornings and full coffee cups. Sunday breakfasts and Bloody Marys. Friends meeting friends. Families growing up. Employees becoming family. Tourists discovering us and regulars who didn't need a menu.
It's been birthdays, hangovers, first dates, old friends, laughter, celebrations — and probably a few stories better left at the counter. 😉
It has always been a little quirky, a little crowded and very Kenosha.
It's our Coffee Pot Family.
And that is something worth protecting.
Through every delay, every unexpected problem and every new hurdle, the goal has remained the same:
Preserve what people love about The Coffee Pot and give it the future it deserves.
And now, finally, we get to tell you about the next chapter.
🍸 THE KENOSHA ROOM IS COMING FIRST.
Instead of waiting until every square foot of The Coffee Pot can reopen at once, we're bringing it back in stages.
The Kenosha Room has been transformed into a warm, 1930s-inspired neighborhood bar celebrating Kenosha's history, its lakefront, its working people and the character of this city.
It will have a personality all its own — but make no mistake:
The Kenosha Room is part of The Coffee Pot.
Opening those doors represents something much bigger to us than opening a bar.
It means we're coming back.
There are still hurdles ahead, and we're not going to pretend otherwise.
But for the first time in a very long time, we're close enough to picture people enjoying The Coffee Pot again.
Drinks being poured.
Food being served; coffee brewing.
Music playing.
Friends running into friends, meeting new friends.
And laughter coming from a building that has been far too quiet for far too long.
When the rest of The Coffee Pot follows, our goal isn't simply to recreate the Coffee Pot of August 2, 2024.
We want to bring back everything you loved about it — and make it even better.
Same heart.
Same personality.
Same sense of community.
Just the next chapter.
So to everyone who has stopped, asked, encouraged us, advocated for us, shared a Coffee Pot memory or simply told us not to give up:
THANK YOU. ❤️
You helped keep this place alive long before we could turn the lights back on.
After two years of fire, setbacks, delays, uncertainty — and finding our way forward — we're getting ready to welcome Kenosha back through our doors.
And we cannot wait to see you.
❤️ THE COFFEE POT IS COMING BACK.
