Thank you so much already to those who have entered the Raffle!! We have had such a positive response just in the first few days of this month. All proceeds from the raffle are donated directly to as they continue education and to combat injustices happening to our black and brown siblings. While we don’t need a month of awareness to recognize black history, this serves as a period of reflection, community, education, a time to honor the past and take action for a better future. We urge everyone this year to continue to support black owned businesses, follow new black creators and artists, support organizations fighting for change, and keep learning the names of black voices who have made such a large impact on our communities and the world. We celebrate black excellence always, but stay tuned for some big news coming tomorrow!❤️💚💛

Today, as we protest the ongoing injustices being carried out by ICE agents, our staff and business stand in solidarity with our friends, family, and Minnesota community on strike. Accountability for the unjust murder of Keith Porter, Renee Good, Alex Pretti and countless other community members is a must. Our staff stands in unity with the world as we fight back against this authoritarian regime. No person deserves to be dehumanized, terrorized, or unlawfully killed. We will not stop until justice is served and ICE IS OUT.

That being said, fully shutting down small local businesses really takes a toll. After being closed last week for weather, we decided to remain OPEN today for the wellbeing of our staff and to be present for our community during this time. So if you want a brief distraction- come play some games, enjoy your favorite sweet treat, or try a new meal with the ones you love most- we are here for you.

Hello! We’re Phil and Mandy, but you can call us Phandy! We are a husband and wife team, and the owners of The Tree Hugger Truck. Originally from Kansas City, we got into the food truck business by opening up a Hawaiian shave ice truck out in Los Angeles five years ago. We fell in love with food truck life and all it’s crazy, spontaneous, fly by the seat of your pants energy. We decided that we wanted to settle down and buy a house (and not drop half a million dollars to do it). So, we threw our cats and all our belongings into our shave ice truck, and moved on back to good ol’ KC. About three years ago, our compassion for animals drove us to give veganism a try, and now we can’t imagine our lives any other way. We want to share our passion for animals, the environment, and health conscious cuisine, and show you how delicious vegan food really can be.

We still own our little shave ice shack on wheels, but are working on altering our business into a fully fledged plant based truck. During this transitionary period, we only offer delivery or pick up. Thank you for supporting us on our journey to save the world, one plate of jackfruit nachos at a time!
