Temporary Closure Announcement
Walnut & Park Café will be temporarily closed for the first two weeks of August, with a planned reopening on Monday, August 17, 2026.
This brief closure will allow us to train new staff, complete maintenance, and prepare to welcome you back better than ever!
We also invite you to join us in congratulating Jennifer Kurts, our longtime Walnut & Park Café Coordinator, as she begins an exciting new role as a Peer Recovery Coach with the Michigan Department of Corrections.
Jen has been part of the KPEP team since 2018 and has long served as the welcoming face of Walnut & Park Café. Her warmth, dedication, and commitment to our customers, staff, and vocational training program have made a lasting impact. Her final day with KPEP will be Thursday, July 30, 2026.
Please join us in thanking Jen for her years of service and wishing her nothing but success in her next adventure! We invite you to stop by Walnut & Park Café on Thursday, July 30, for cake as we celebrate Jen, thank her for her years of service, and wish her well as she embarks on this exciting new chapter!
