G's Boudin King Cake! 👑🎉👌🏾 This is one of my most favorite things to make, all from scratch. Fresh Louisiana chicken boudin, wrapped in homemade French bread, beautifully braided, and graced with a purple/gold/green sugar glaze. Finished with green onion, Tabasco and red pepper jellies, adorned with traditional Mardi Gras beads. A phenomenal mash-up of sweet, savory, and spicy. Laissez les Bons Temps Rouler (Let the Good Times Roll)!!!

G's Toasted Cheese & Mushroom Melt👌🏾 See what had happened was...I intended to make a Baked and Quesadilla, but I realized too late that I didn't have any tortillas. So improvised and used bread, because I REALLY wanted that quesadilla. The melt was made with sautéed mushrooms and cheese — which is an ideal melting cheese for quesadillas. SO good 😋!

So last night my nephew came home from college ( ) for the holidays and wanted eat at a restaurant. Me and the Fam met up at my son's crib to decide where to go. After 30 minutes of indecision, I took it upon myself to rummage for ingredients and started cooking...just made something up. I found rigatoni, half a box of bowtie pasta, a bag of frozen shrimp, a jar of Alfredo sauce crab paste, and various other ingredients and spices. Then the magic happened...it was REALLY good! But that's how I roll y'all. 😉👌🏾

...Enslaved cooks often used peach pits as a secret seasoning. When roasted and crushed, those pits gave dishes a deep, almond-like flavor that mimicked expensive extracts they were never allowed to access. What started as a forced workaround quietly built a flavor tradition that showed up later in Southern pies, cobblers, and liqueurs.

It’s a reminder that even in bo***ge, our ancestors' creativity reshaped the table in ways folks still don’t even recognize.
