Crossed Rifles BBQ ventured out on the BBQ trail for a few weeks, making our way to TN, MO, OK and finally TX... home! 😉

Not all the cards played in our favor on this excursion, but we do have one to brag about... Thank you to Mark and crew at Kickin' It Route 66 Barbecue Challenge Saint Robert for the hospitality and well run event. Those donuts were on point, too!

We competed against a hornets nest of 27 KCBS bbq cooks and were blessed to take home 💥 Reserve Grand Champion! 💥 and share the stage with Kermit's Ex BBQ as 💥 Grand Champion 💥! Congratulations, y'all and to everyone who heard their name called!

Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo BBQ Competition is always a fun one to cook. This year, we had the pleasure of cooking with Ponyxpress Puro Tejano Cook Off Team. First and foremost, we give all glory to God! For without Him none of this is possible.

We want to thank Mike Martinez and his incredible team for welcoming us with open arms and treating us like family. In feeling like family, we felt like Royalty! Mr. Martinez has poured his heart, soul, a little blood and lots of tears into this cookoff.

When it comes to the competition, we closed the lids on 5 great turn ins this weekend. After brisket turn in, we changed clothes and stepped outside with the hope of seeing a banner round that corner. When that moment happened and our contest supervisor was out in front with a rolled up banner, our hearts dropped. With 5 teams on one row, Steven cleared the first tent, spotted us and pointed. Well let's just say I watered my beard because I knew that we had just put Mike and Pony Xxpress on the stage for the FIRST TIME!

Thats a wrap on the American Royal World Series of Barbeque 2025! Crossed Rifles BBQ turned in great proteins provided by Korte Meat Processing! The temps were cold and the wind was in full effect in our little corner of the world, but the fires were HOT!

Well, I've been hemmed up all week with catering and haven't had a moment to reflect on last weekend, but here it goes... Last weekend we traveled to Roswell, Georgia to compete in the 6th Annual Royal Oak Invitational. Let me tell you, no-one... and I mean no-one... rolls out the red carpet like Craig Verhage and the team at Royal Oak Charcoal. This was our second year to be invited, and this year was just as good as the last. The words "bbq family" get thrown around alot; however, at Royal Oak, it truly is and we love each and every one you guys and gals. Saturday we turned in 3 good boxes and 2
great boxes.

This weekend, we decided to end our 3 month break from bbq comps. So, we packed up and headed to "THE COWBOY CAPITAL OF THE WORLD", aka Bandera, Texas for the Bandera Chamber of Commerce State Championship Cookoff ran by Champions Barbecue Alliance. I was also giving a shadow class this weekend so that added another element to our cook. We ran into a few snags because it's been awhile; however, we made it work and turned in what we felt were 3 good proteins. The judges agreed and we ended the day with...
