Long before there was King Ranch Texas Kitchen, there was a campsite along Santa Gertrudis Creek.

In 1852, Captain Richard King stopped there while traveling to the Texas State Fair in Corpus Christi and saw the potential in the land. One year later, he purchased the 15,500-acre Rincon de Santa Gertrudis land grant for $300, marking the founding of what would become King Ranch.

More than 170 years later, we’re proud to carry a piece of that Texas legacy forward here in Houston. 🤠
