The Daniel K. Inouye Museum, located by Lake Hoshino River in Kitakawauchi, Joyo-machi, Yame City, is dedicated to the life and legacy of Daniel K. Inouye, who had deep roots in Joyo and became a bridge of friendship between Japan and the United States.

The museum features a permanent exhibition about Daniel, as well as a café serving local ingredients and Hawaiian-inspired food, along with a shop.

A statue of Daniel K. Inouye was erected in 2021 in Joyo, the hometown of his ancestors, to honor his many contributions to the United States and Japan in politics and culture, and to pass his legacy on to future generations.

The statue reflects his sincere and humble character, with a gentle gaze that symbolizes his lasting hope for world peace and friendship between the United States and Japan.
