The String and Splinter Club, High Point’s City Club, is pleased to announce Elizabeth Johnson Yocum has joined the historic private dining and social club as General Manager. Yocum brings extensive experience in marketing, hospitality, events, community engagement, and business development to the role.
In her new position, Yocum will oversee the club's day-to-day operations while leading efforts to strengthen member engagement, enhance the member experience, develop new programming and events, and position the String and Splinter Club for continued growth within the High Point community.
“We are excited to welcome Elizabeth to the String and Splinter Club management team. Her experience, expertise and energy are a perfect fit for the Club,” Mark Furr, Board of Directors President said. “Next year, the String and Splinter Club celebrates 70 years in the High Pont community and Elizabeth’s leadership and event planning strengths will play an important role as we recognize and commemorate this milestone.”
Yocum, a native of High Point, has been deeply involved in High Point's community and business landscape. Her hospitality background includes marketing and guest experience leadership at Pandora's Manor, a boutique inn and event venue in High Point, as well as marketing and programming with Stock + Grain Assembly Food Hall. She has also worked extensively in community development, small-business advocacy, events, destination marketing, and downtown revitalization initiatives, including coordination of High Point’s Holiday Stroll for over 16 years.
"The String and Splinter Club has such a unique place in High Point's history and social fabric, and I am excited about the opportunity to help shape its next chapter," said Yocum. "My goal is to build on the traditions that make the club special while creating new reasons for members to gather, connect, dine, celebrate, and bring others into the String and Splinter experience."
