Tomatoes, we can’t give you up just yet…

Yeah, we know Fall is right around the corner, but as long as there are good, in-season tomatoes out there, we’re eatin’ em.

This week for Wiener Wednesday, an ode to summer’s favorite sandwich: The BLT. An all-beef hot dog, topped with marinated tomatoes, romaine lettuce, crispy bacon and blend of housemade pesto and Duke's Mayonnaise.

We’ve got another big week ahead, but Wednesday night at Trailside is this week’s highlight.

Our friends from Creature Comforts Brewing Co. are in town taking over a few of our draft lines from 5:30pm to 8:30pm on Wednesday, September 16th. We will have a lineup of Athens favorites pouring—including Fall, their crisp seasonal Festbier—and a brewery rep on-site hanging out and talking shop. If you prefer wine, our weekly Exploring a World of Wine tasting will be rolling right alongside it from 5:00pm to 8:00pm.

Mason Ale Works ‘Dankenstein’s Monster’ · 9.3%
An unfiltered DIPA loaded with Cascade, CTZ, Chinook, Centennial, and Simcoe hops for big citrus, big pine, and plenty of dank.

Mason Ale Works ‘Bride of Dankenstein’ · 7%
A west coast single IPA built with Citra, Idaho 7, Cascade, Cashmere, Strata, and Amarillo — lighter and more fruit-forward than her monstrous other half.

Mason Ale Works ‘Nightmare Juice’ · 7.9%
A hazy golden double dry-hopped IPA with Mosaic and Citra, bursting with mango, ripe citrus, and blueberry candy.

Athens heavyweights Creature Comforts Brewing Co. are taking over the taps at Trailside next Wednesday, September 16th.

Known for obsessing over precision, quality, and flavor since opening doors in 2014, the crew from Athens has been a staple in our coolers and on our draft lines for years. For this event, we’re dedicating a big chunk of our draft board to a curated lineup of Creature classics and seasonal favorites, including Fall, their crisp, malt-forward Festbier

We will also have a brewery rep hanging out on-site all evening to pour beers, talk shop, and share stories straight from Athens.

Tonight's Wiener Wednesday special is inspired by a recent trip to Greece, where you can find a traditional Greek salad in nearly every restaurant that you step foot in. Inspired by those salads, this all-beef hot dog — My Big Fat Greek Wiener (sorry, we couldn't help ourselves!) — is topped with fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, purple onions, olives, feta and herbs, and served on a buttered brioche bun. Or try it with our housemade carrot dog for a vegetarian option!

This one is pretty special.

We teamed up with Schödl Wines to create Valley of Flowers, a Grüner Veltliner that feels like a little piece of Austria—and a little piece of The Community Tap. The grapes come from Blumenthal, a small winegrower village where the Schödl family’s grandfather was born and raised. Grown in deep loess soils and hand-harvested at peak ripeness, it’s classic Grüner with ripe apple and pear, subtle exotic fruit, a creamy texture, Austrian spice, and a beautifully mineral finish.

But there’s another piece of the story on the bottle.

The dogwood artwork by local artist Haley Hughes is a personal homage to a couple of people who are close to us—making this collaboration feel like more than just a wine we helped create. It’s a bottle with a little bit of history, friendship, and meaning tucked inside.

The wine is unfined and unfiltered, and because it’s our project with Schödl, you won’t find it just anywhere.

We’re one of only two places in South Carolina carrying Valley of Flowers.
Come get a bottle of something we’re pretty damn proud of.
