A new gateway monument sign could be coming to Grapevine's northern entrance.

On Tuesday, the city council will consider allocating $87,000 from the Quality of Life Fund to pay for the final design and construction documents for a proposed Gateway Monument Sign near the intersection of State Highway 114 and Northwest Highway, close to the CVS entrance.

According to city documents, the monument is intended to serve as a welcoming landmark for residents and visitors while reinforcing Grapevine's identity and branding. The project traces back to the City's 2013 Gateway and Landscape Enhancement Plan, which identified the area as a key entrance into the community.

If approved, the funding would cover engineering and design work needed to prepare the project for competitive bidding. The City estimates the eventual construction cost of the monument sign at approximately $472,000.

Remember when Post Malone stopped by Flips Grapevine and left his waitress a $1,000 tip? 🤠🍔

That memorable visit made headlines last year and now the restaurant where it happened is entering a brand-new chapter.

Flips Grapevine closes tonight for renovations before reopening with a fresh new look and an exciting rebrand. The restaurant has also announced it will be transitioning from a smoking to a non-smoking bar…one of the things that made it a favorite stop for Post Malone during his visit.

It’s always bittersweet to see a longtime Grapevine restaurant change, but we’re excited to see what’s next for this space. We’ll be following the transformation and sharing updates along the way.

Who remembers when Post Malone came to town? And what are your favorite Flips memories? 👇

A rollercoaster week at The Open came to an end for Grapevine’s own Bryson DeChambeau. ⛳️

After battling through one of the tournament’s biggest controversies, a two-stroke penalty that sparked plenty of debate, Bryson couldn’t quite make the Sunday charge he was hoping for at Royal Birkdale. He ultimately finished six shots behind champion Ryan Fox.

Despite the disappointment, Bryson said afterward that he could “hold my head high” following a week filled with highs, lows and plenty of attention from golf fans around the world.

No major trophy this time, but it was another reminder that one of golf’s biggest stars proudly calls Grapevine home. 💙🏌️

One of Grapevine’s most recognizable attractions could soon be back in action! The animatronic gun fighters on the Grapevine Glockenspiel Clock have been broken for the better part of two years.

On Tuesday, city leaders will consider approving a $28,250 emergency refurbishment project for the “Would-Be Train Robbers” on the Convention & Visitors Bureau headquarters in Historic Downtown Grapevine.

The attraction, which debuted in 2012, features animatronic cowboys Nat Barrett and W***y Majors emerging from the clock tower several times each day to perform a family-friendly western show approximately 75 feet above Main Street. According to city documents, the system has experienced operational failures affecting the animatronic figures, control systems, programming, and show sequencing.

If approved, the work would be performed by the original designer and manufacturer of the attraction. The refurbishment would include replacing the proprietary control system, inspecting and replacing sensors, updating programming, testing all mechanical and electrical components, and documenting recommendations for future maintenance. The city is also considering a long-term preventive maintenance program estimated about $20k annually beginning in 2027, according to city documents.

Have you noticed the construction across from Chick-fil-A on Highway 26? That little corner is getting a makeover! The City of Colleyville is transforming the space into a pocket park: basically, a small green space designed for people to stop, relax and enjoy.

But we have one very important question…

Does anyone else immediately think of Parks & Recreation whenever they hear the words “pocket park?” Leslie Knope would absolutely be obsessed. 😂

We’re looking forward to seeing how it turns out! Sometimes it’s the smallest spaces that add the biggest charm to a community. 🌿
