BIG NEWS!! We’re updating the lobby and bar at Hackney’s on Harms! For four weeks, starting Monday, July 27th, our inside bar and dining room will be closed while we give it a fresh new (but still old school) look. But fear not!! The KITCHEN AND PATIO WILL BE OPEN!!! You can still get your french-fried onion fix all season long! See you on The Patio!

During World War II, the camp across the street from Hackney’s on Harms served as an Army post and housed German prisoners of war. Because of its location, the Army considered Hackney’s to be “on the base,” allowing officers to gather at the bar after duty. It’s a fascinating piece of Glenview history and just one of the many stories that has become part of Hackney’s legacy over the decades.

Throwback Thursday

Saturday nights in the Shillelagh Room meant live jazz from the legendary Ikey Robinson. Those nights were filled with great music, good friends, and memories that have lasted for generations.

We still believe there’s nothing quite like live music bringing people together, and we’re proud to keep that tradition going today. Here’s to the memories—and the music still playing.

That’s the vibe at Hackney’s in Glenview-a place that feels familiar, easy, and full of good memories.

One of our favorite Glenview traditions is walking in the Fourth of July Parade. From familiar faces along the route to tossing our famous dark rye bread, it's a tradition we look forward to every year.

When youre hungry for a classic Chicago-area bite with a neighborhood feel, Hackneys on Harms in Glenview, IL hits the spot. You pull into the lot, step inside, and the buzz of conversation and the smell of something sizzling makes you instantly glad you came. You go straight for the famous burgerjuicy, messy, and stacked just rightthen add onion rings that crunch loud and dip smooth into that creamy sauce. You spot the ribs and sandwiches coming out to other tables and suddenly youre planning your next order before youve even finished. You settle into the warm, old-school dining room, catch the friendly check-ins from the staff, and take your time like theres nowhere else to be. Its easy to park, service moves fast, portions feel generous for the price, and the whole place stays laid-back even when its busy. You leave full, happy, and already thinking about who youre bringing back.

There’s just something about the Fourth of July in Glenview. 🇺🇸 Neighbors lining the streets, families making memories, and traditions that bring us all together year after year.

As our country celebrates 250 years, we’re especially grateful to be part of this incredible community and honored to be a small part of so many family traditions.

We’ll be back in the Glenview 4th of July Parade, with Dark Rye Guy tossing our famous Dark Rye Bread along the route—be sure to give us a wave! 🍞👋

Whether you’re stopping in before the parade, grabbing a bite afterward, or celebrating after the fireworks, we’d love to spend part of your holiday with you.

Wednesdays at Hackney’s on Lake are made for patio season. Join us for $5 Margaritas and Taco Specials all day, then settle in for live music with Phin & Friends on the patio. If the weather decides otherwise, the music moves inside to the bar area so the fun keeps going. Great food, cold margaritas, and live local music every Wednesday.

We're excited to welcome Lil' Ed Williams back to Hackney's on Harms Patio for a special performance on Wednesday, June 3rd. A true Chicago blues legend, Lil' Ed is known for his incredible slide guitar, nonstop energy, and keeping classic Chicago blues alive.
